Built to have a late game swing, this Daisy Walker deck relies on heavy resource production, clue generation, and deck manipulation. But loading up on resources, Daisy is able to ramp up her combat and investigation skills with Arcane Studies. And with cards like Medical Texts, Fearless, and Ward of Protection, Daisy is one of the more resilient and survivable characters.
Resource Production/Economy:
-
Dr. Milan Christopher is one of Daisy's core cards. He combos well with Magnifying Glass, Arcane Studies, Deduction, and Daisy's already high lore. He should be played as early as possible to ramp up Daisy's economy engine. It can not be overstated how important it is to get this card out into play as soon as humanly possible.
- Emergency Cache is a bread and butter card that can be used to get out expensive cards early, or dumped into Arcane Studies.
Clue Generation:
-
Magnifying Glass gives you a substantial advantage when looking for clues, especially in the early game. One of Daisy's hands should always have an Old Book of Lore, and the other should be holding this card. Unless things go really south, you should be saving Medical Texts and the second copy of Old Book of Lore for when you can get Daisy's Tote Bag into play.
-
Deduction is practically a auto-include. Daisy's main purpose is to gather clues, and with cards like Magnifying Glass and Arcane Studies granting investigation bonuses, getting that extra clue is no problem.
- Working a Hunch is no nonsense clue generation. Pay 2 resources, get a clue.
Tempo/Efficient Resource Allocation/Deck Manipulation:
-
Old Book of Lore is the reason you're playing a Daisy Walker deck. The amount of control you have over the cards you're drawing with this card and Daisy's ability is ridiculous. This is some UW Delver levels of tempo bullshit. Getting this card and Dr. Milan Christopher out ASAP is paramount. Thankfully, Research Librarian should make it easier. Ideally, you'll play Dr. Milan Christopher first, taking you from 5 -> 1 resources. Next turn find a clue, then have the three (1 previous turn + 1 beginning of turn resource + 1 resource from Dr. Milan Christopher's ability) needed to play Old Book of Lore.
-
Research Librarian exits solely to get you your books. The general order should be Old Book of Lore -> Medical Texts -> Old Book of Lore.
- Scrying is even more of the draw control you love. Not nearly as good as Old Book of Lore, since it lacks the draw power of the former, but is cheaper and allows you to look at the encounter deck, which can be used in tandem with Ward of Protection.
Combat
-
Shrivelling is Daisy's primary means of combat. When used with Arcane Studies it hits hard. Fearless is necessary to help deal with the extra horror accumulated.
- Mind over Matter is a useful card in it's own right. It's useful in a pinch when you need to fight or run. Arcane Studies really helps ramp up the power of this card.
Support
-
Medical Texts is nice since it doesn't rely on charges. The lore check is trivial for Daisy, and can be extremely useful in multiplayer.
-
Fearless really makes Daisy a resilient character. You need it for removing the horror created by The Necronomicon, Ward of Protection, and Shrivelling.
-
Holy Rosary boosts the primary stat for casting Shrivelling and Blinding Light. Spell-casters can never have too much willpower.
- Ward of Protection is the closest thing to a counter in this game. When used with Scrying it can be quite powerful.
