This is a Father Mateo bless deck that I played alongside Item-Cycle Finn (https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/1693290) through a successful Path to Carcosa campaign. Thanks to Arcane Research, the blessed Father entered the final adventure with 62 xp worth of upgrades, although many of them were luxury further upgrades of spells.

This deck gets going pretty well after just 4 xp, and really trucks at about 10 xp with following upgrades:

  1. Blessing of Isis
  2. Favor of the Sun
  3. Sacred Covenant
  4. (preferably) upgrade Rosary.

With this combination, along with the lvl 0 cards Book of Psalms, Olive McBride, and Tempt Fate, i was able to pull at least one auto success a round, plus keep the bag full of 9 or 10 bless tokens at all times. (Keep Faith actually ended up being fairly redundant. I would probably trade it out for some more utility or economy. Ward of Protection, maybe?)

Effectively the deck played like this:

  1. Mulligan like a mystic: uncage the soul, one investigate spell, and one combat spell. 1a. alternatively, you can expedite the deck, if you team can handle early game, by mulliganing for Blessing of isis, favor of the sun, and holy rosary

  2. Play a normal mystic in the first few rounds. Try to pump the bag with bless tokens with tempt fate and, maybe, Book of psalms. An early Rosary helps, too.

  3. Play Blessing of Isis and Favor of the Sun on the same turn or close together. With this combination, one bless token effectively becomes an auto-success AND returns those tokens to the bag. Use the extra action to Book of Psalms (or anything) or speed up your economy. Olive McBride can help you pull a bless token.

  4. if you don't want to risk it, use Seal of the Elder Sign.

  5. If you auto-fail, use Father Mateo's ability or Eucatastrophe.
