My favorite part of the single core experience is spending my hard earned victory points. Each investigator has quite a few interesting choices for XP cards and the choice of what to take out to make room is even more agonizing. Below I have a list what card swaps from the Wendy starter deck I would make in a Night of Zealot campaign in roughly the order I would make them in and why.

Advancements

  • Switchblade --> Lucky! (2): Lucky! is one my favorite cards in the game. It's an unexpected courage you don't have to use until you need it and at level 2 you draw a card, plus you get a second copy! With 1 you aren't going to win many fights let alone win by 2 so switchbade isn't going to help much.

  • Knife --> Close Call (2): Close Call plays right into Wendy's evade theme turning a successful evade into an auto kill. Best used on enemies with doom on them and worst on Victory Point enemies. Makes for a more reliable and synergistic answer to threats than knife.

  • Leo De Luca (or Knife) --> Leo De Luca(1) Wendy has a lot of good cards that aren't cheap and Leo De Luca, I'm not sure with all the options for the ally slot the more expensive Leos is for the best, if you want to play a 2 Leo deck cut a knife instead.

  • Cunning Distraction --> Will to Survive(3): Will to survive is your ace in the hole for the mad dash to fish the scenario when you need to use Baseball Bat for the kill or to make sure you get a card back with scavenging.

Optional

These upgrade options I have a harder time recommending because they are good cards but they increase the decks number of Ally cards as well as the number of expensive cards in the deck. If you decide against these I would go with Bulletproof Vest (3) or Elder Sign Amulet (3)

  • Leather Coat --> Aquinnah (1) The Forgotten Daughter is a useful ally for the tougher scenarios if your team is getting overwhelmed by enemies.

  • Stray Cat--> Cat Burglar(1) The burglar is also useful for dealing with large groups of enemies. The Cat also does this a one shot so if you find yourself keeping 2 Leos in the just stick to the cat as you can play if before another ally and get full use out of it before you play your second ally.
