Preston the Hoarder

Perception is in reality Trial by Fire.

Deck for Carcossa (Fine Cloths), team with a fighter, hard difficulty.

Most important upgrades are Streetwise and Lola.

This deck relies strongly on a super-strong-broken-for-Preston card Well Connected. Almost hard muligan for it.

The idea is to have a nice pool of resources in your resource pool to use WC every turn for one test without any other boosts. Once you have this you get money on Inheritance every turn that you can spend on Streetwise and Lola. Lone Wolf gives more money to spend each turn.

Short guide how to get there:

Early Turn type 1: you go somewhere and spend resources from Inhertance to play assets/LWIF

Early Turn type 2: You investigate (for example using Flashlight that you had played previous turn) twice and move money to your resource pool.

You have 10 resources on you already, giving you +2 from WC every turn, or a test with a base stat of 5 with Money Talks. Good start.

Next turns you play as the cards/scenario directs you, but if you have a suboptimal action move money to your resource pool instead of drawing a card/taking a resource. Always plan it the way that on the turn you want to move money, you don't spend any. It's not worth to move 1 or 2 resources. Since money from Upkeep go directly to your resource pool, you'll find yourself having 30+ resources fairly quickly. It means 1 test with base stat 7 per turn thanks to WC.

Other cards:

You have couple of cards in your deck that make you able to deal with any situation- Money Talks, Rise To The Occasion, Cunning, You Handle This One, Trial by Fire.

Look what I found and Winging it to quickly pick up clues. Flashlights/lantern are meant to work together with Lola and help to investigate in early game, before you collect money.

Sneak Attack and Act of Desperation provides the minimum fighting capabilities. It mihgt actually quickly get reaplaced for upgrades if your main fighter is efficient enough. Preston can evade if needed, his teammate should be able to do the killing.

Dario is not necessary, in my case replaced by Lola.

Very effective deck able to deal with anything.
