This deck comes from a discussion on Episode 14 of Mythos Busters where they were talking about roles.

I basically packed in the easiest to use healing cards that will work on other investigators and their allies. Zoey is already good at fighting, she's already got good Willpower, so she can make her way around the map both taking on enemies and healing investigators from damage that they have taken from either enemies or other effects.

I call this deck a "Paladin" deck because the idea is for her to take on enemies, but also be able to generally heal or buff (via pitching in skill checks) other investigators. Because of this, it's important for her to be in the same location as another investigator.

Guts and Overpower are in there to bolster her in what she's good at, for when the really tough tests or must-pass situations come up.

Dodge and Dynamite Blast are simply excellent utility cards, almost always useful. I chose Beat Cop as the ally for the extra attack boost, and to soak a little bit of horror and damage as needed.

Out of faction choices:

Preposterous Sketches is meant to give Zoey the draw she needs to pull the healing cards and weapons.

Clarity of Mind allow her to try and stay sane, as well as heal horror on others

Fire Axe = one more weapon, just to make sure she's got something to work with

Sideboard cards: 1x Teamwork, 1x Taunt

Nice deck. Might I suggest Liquid Courage rather than Clarity of Mind. Zoey's base 4 means she should be safe to pass the test and with Guts/Unexpected Courage you have a couple of ways to help a teammate if they can't help themselves. One more charge and one less resource too.

Not sure what your plans are for upgrading. I suspect Stand Together Is likely in your mind. It would be a natural upgrade for Preposterous Sketches tho that would open up some Oof slots. No idea if that was your plan ofc bout if it was you might be fine going one sc without the draw. You have a lot of healing stuff in there anyway. Your likely to find at least one early. It might be an opportunity to start with an alternative if you have something you reluctantly dropped. Tho I don't have any obvious suggestions mind. there must be a support toy out there tho.

Stand Together would definitely be a priority upgrade! Liquid Courage is a good idea too but Zoey doesnt drink :D

hehe no worries, completely agree with picking theme over min/maxing. Its a fantastic narrative heavy game and should be enjoyed as such! Did wonder when i wrote that if the Clarity of Mind was a paladin theme thing. Not a massive difference between the two ofc.

I like this deck a lot! I don't think it does well purely in terms of efficiency (First Aid and Clarity of Mind are deeply inefficient cards), but it's really great in terms of theme. Love the paladin Zoey concept. If only FFG would release some more healing options that weren't terrible...

really cool deck! I think you need a dedicated clue gatherer though to make up for her bad investigating skills.

In 3-4 player games, taunt could be great here.
