DISLAIMER: This deck doesn’t comply with the taboo list. I don’t like to use the list in solo campaigns. Playing solo is quite challenging as is, so I don’t think it’s necessary. Also, solo play already limits the cards that you can play successfully. Without teammates the deck can’t be specialized to only do one thing really well, and covering all your bases restricts what cards you can slot in.

I used this deck for a solo run through The Circle Undone with great success. It plays very unconventionally, so it might take some getting used to. It also requires a couple turns to set up in order to get Preston rich enough to start wrecking face.

The idea here is to power up Well-Connected and Money Talks so that you are guaranteed one power action per turn in which you are very likely to succeed. To supplement that, there are lots of cards that give you testless effects like Decoy, Cunning Distraction , and Intel report that would normally be too expensive for most investigators to play regularly.

Even before setting up your engine, your priority should be to keep yourself safe. Don’t let a Turn-1 enemy encounter ruin your plans right from the start. Mulligan hard for cards that will protect you against enemies. Once you have those in hand, priority is Lone Wolf and Well-Connected.

Early game, you will want to dedicate one action every turn to either A) playing Lone Wolf, B) playing Well Connected, C) playing Leo DeLuca or D) liberating money from Family Inheritance. If all goes well, you should have at least 20 resources stashed away by turn 5, and you can blitz through the rest of the scenario.

Don’t be afraid to hard draw quite a bit in the early game to look for the cards mentioned above. This will also be drawing you into powerful events. There are no skill cards in this deck because starting at (1) is not worth committing skill icons to. This deck’s success lies in having answers to problems in hand via events, not cards on the table or committing skill icons.

Managing enemies can be tricky, and limited, so prioritize hunters, and try to just evade non-hunters and move away from them for a while if possible.

Use Test of Will liberally. Charon’s Obol will give you back the two XP you spend on re-drafting them after they’re exiled.

Don’t be afraid to resign quickly in the earlier scenarios after you draft Charon’s Obol. Better to stay alive than gain a couple extra XP.

Upgrading to Hot Streak is just incing on the cake, adding two skill points to every Well-Connected skill test for two actions.

Streetwise is there only for emergencies. Do not rely on it! Well-Connected is what wins skill tests (and games) over the long run. Hoard your money and let it work for you via Well-Connected and the ability to pay for events. Don't flush it down the toilet. Even Preston can go broke paying endlessly into Talent cards.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: If you pull Paranoia as your weakness…I don’t know what to tell you. It’s gonna be rough.
