Teaming with Daisy and Pete for another attempt at The Dunwich Legacy on Expert. I'm hoping it goes better than the last attempt in which we decided to restart the campaign after three No Resolution results and several traumas each.

I'm cutting back on my usual need to have six weapons in my deck. Hopefully the extra skills will help me draw into what's needed if I get a poor opening hand and mulligan. My Daisy doesn't believe in Scrying so my plan is to use any time not engaged with an enemy rigging the encounter deck.

Why Expert?

@whaggardjrFor... fun? I think that's the word. The tougher Chaos bag exaggerates both success and failure which in turn lends more drama to a session. I also enjoy the amount of planning and teamwork needed to make it out of a scenario, almost like a teambuilding exercise. :p The difficulty also causes player and encounter cards to "behave" or interact a bit differently than they would on other difficulty settings. On top of all that I'm also a huge fan of roguelike games and the Souls series of video games and Expert lends the game the same kinda feel. The campaign log becomes a tombstone or high score sheet. Thanks for askin!

That's awesome. I was just wondering if you'd already finished/mastered/defeated a campaign on Standard or Hard ... or, if just for FUN! The expert bag has scared me too much so far, but your attitude inspires me!! Enjoy.

I had to make the choice between masochist and fun and so erred on the side of fun. XD I'm more than happy to spread the Expert gospel any which way that I'm able. I found it best to make friends with the Chaos bag by writing out the statistics for each scenario before I play it, that way I can make an educated decision about how many resources I need to commit to any given skill test. This article is what tipped me off to doing it:

As far as Standard goes, I've never gotten a "good" ending to Night of the Zealot and I've only played through The Dunwich Legacy once so far and it was on Expert. (We didn't make it through to Lost in Time and Space...)
