Wendy Adams: Survivor Focused on evading enemies and dealing with them passively while focusing on clearing low shroud locations of clues.

A note on survivors: Survivor cards are usually very situational for effects, but they all have great icons on them for committing to skill tests, every card is useful in a number of situations. They usually have some effects that even trigger on failure or allow you to take a test again with a bonus etc, survivors tend to be the more advanced of the classes but that doesn't mean they are more powerful.

Investigation:

  • Wendy has the ability to alter the probability of succeeding a test by discarding a card to return the drawn token to the bag and draw a new one. this effect can allow for decisive tests to be passed when it would be otherwise failed.
  • Wendy can play the event card on the top of her discard pile as if it was in her hand when she has her amulet out, this can lead to very strong turns of using one event over and over (look what I found to pull 6 clues after 3 failures, using Lucky! numerous times a turn to get +2 to an ability after a failure, dealing 6 damage to an exhausted enemy via Sneak Attack, Contraband to restock your flashlights etc)
  • Use Flashlights to lower the shroud of locations to make pulling clues easier.
  • Contraband keeps your flashlights useable.
  • Use Stray Cats to evade key (non elite) enemies without using an action to save on time. -Leather Coat and Cherished Keepsake offer free damage and sanity soak without using up your Stray Cats.

Combat:

  • Fighting is not Wendy's strong point, she prefers to run away from her problems.
  • Waylay allows you to evade an exhausted (already evaded) enemy to defeat it without having to fight it.
  • Elusive disengages you from all enemies without an evasion test and moves you to another location.
  • Survival instinct also does this if committed to an evasion test and can effect another investigator if committed to their test instead.
  • Use Sneak Attack to deal with problematic enemies you or someone else has evaded.

Weakness:

  • Wendy's weakness can be very punishing as it deals 2 direct horror that cannot be soaked, then removes all cards in your discard pile from the game, meaning you have a smaller deck size to reshuffle next time around for this scenario.

  • If this comes out early it is not a problem, but if it comes out late it can be devastating.
