Joe was walking a well understood path and then.... he saw the clues and decided to go off beat... puffing up his combat (with the blessed blade) and general skills with Favor of the sun... and getting an all around skill increase and a boost on getting vicious blows out and maybe a bit more cluevering with help from some ancesteal knowledge. Though he was thinking he'd skill still with Charisma.
