TEACHER DECK?

The “Teacher Decks” are meant to provide an easy to explain decklist for an experienced player, with a full collection(up to the Edge of the Earth release), to give to a new player to show teach the game with.

Note that these decks aren’t super optimized or efficient like many of the decklists around here. That’s because it would defeat the point of these teacher decks. I’m just giving a solid platform to learn the game with.

It can be hard enough to learn the ins and outs of this game, lets not make it harder on ourselves by getting ahead of ourselves shall we?

These will generally include an overview of the deck, what it should be teaching, and some suggestions and thoughts on upgrades for the deck.

OVERVIEW

Daisy shows the value of action advantage (using tomes), and is very successful at gathering clues.

Keep shriveling and mists, clues will become obvious but these cards will allow them to get exposed to how combat/evasion works.

Medical texts is there to introduce the concept of risk assessment, “should I risk hurting them?” Get their brain thinking about it. There is rarely any risk to the investigating job after all, just enemies interrupting it.

UPGRADES

Start with the Old book of lore (3), then deduction(2) and Seeking Answers (2) for bonus clues.

Abigail Foreman(4) is a multiplier, and will push your “free tome value” standards even farther.

Higher Education(3) is really good at ensuring clues, and helps your spells hit their will tests.

Mists of Rlyeh(2) and Expose Weakness(1/3) will help in the enemy management.

You should upgrade to Medical Texts(2) if Daisy suffers any physical trauma, adding protection from the previous risks mentioned and additional healing.
