Ashcan is special because he gets to have the bestest boy out at the start of the game: "Duke".
Duke lets Ashcan either fight or investigate with a base skill of 4 once per round, essentially rounding out his stats very well.
This deck wants to "recur" assets from the discard pile / graveyard with "Scavenging" and "Scrounge for Supplies" letting you play your Survivor cards multiple times.
