A streamlined, Core Set–only refinement of Joe Diamond built for the new Chapter 2 (2026) experience. The goal of this deck was simple: improve Joe’s out-of-the-box consistency and flexibility without relying on any expansion cards or advanced combos.
This build leans into what Joe does best — investigating efficiently while still being fully capable of handling enemies when the situation turns bad. Between Magnifying Glass, Hand-Crank Flashlight, Deduction, Working a Hunch, and Detective's Intuition, clues come fast and reliably. At the same time, Machete, Vicious Blow, and Unexpected Courage give Joe enough combat presence to protect himself and the team without becoming a dedicated fighter.
The deck also focuses heavily on smoothing out Joe’s early-game setup and economy. Laboratory Assistant, Logan Hastings, Emergency Cache, and a healthy spread of skill cards help reduce the awkward starts that the original prebuilt deck could sometimes suffer from.
Most importantly, this version preserves the feel of classic Joe Diamond: a sharp investigator who always seems one step ahead, balancing clue acceleration with practical self-defense. If you want a cleaner, more reliable “out of the box” Joe using only the Chapter 2 Core card pool, this is designed to be an easy pickup-and-play upgrade.
