Ursula Downs takes on the Forgotten Age and manages to scrape by the last few scenarios by the skin of her teeth!

Ended with:

4 Physical Trauma 2 Mental Trauma Resolution 1!

General Thoughts:

Ursula was a ton of fun to play, and very capable as a solo investigator (at least as far as Forgotten Age is concerned). The back half of the campaign is very rough for her in this build, as her only ways of handling enemies are evading and Disc. Gold Pocket Watch saved my skin through the last few scenarios, and had I not had it I would have been decimated. Definitely a great pick up, and worthwhile with Dr. Elli Horowitz.

Speaking of the Dr., I found her to be one of my favorite cards in Ursula. With powerful "discard/remove from play" artifacts like Disc and Gold Pocket Watch, she managed to handle enemies fairly well and then take a hit or two for Ursula.

Charisma is definitely a necessity in this campaign on solo, provided you make the choices of working with your potential allies/rivals.

The powerful combination of Pathfinder and Fieldwork made investigating a breeze, and in later scenarios that dropped treacheries on you that you had to test to get out of, Fieldwork was a life saver.

Changes I'd Make:

Either stick with Hyperawareness or Higher Education. Not Both. While Hyperawareness upgraded helped me immensely in City of Archives with all of those extra icons, I feel like I really only need one or the other, not both.

Forewarned was unnecessary. For the most part, Ursula can handle herself in the treachery deck. She shouldn't need to cancel a treachery card, even if its a bad pull for her.

In solo, don't upgrade Deduction. It only was useful in the final scenario for me.

All of that said, I'd look at getting the Ancient Stone, Knowledge of the Elders. Ursula has a lot of card draw potential, it's another relic with which to tutor out with Elli or Unearth the Ancients, and the damage would actually help her with the enemies she can't simply evade or discard!

I would consider getting a copy of Relic Seeker IF I get Charon's Obal (I was NOT ballsy enough to grab it on my first solo run) so that you can stack Tooth of Eztli for more treachery management, but it's not necessary.
