Starting a run of Arkham Horror tCG with a couple of friends, from Night of the Zealot, through Dunwich Legacy to The Path to Carcosa and beyond(?). This deck is one of three starting decks built from 2x Core Sets. Each intended to shine in their particular way, and hopefully cover each other's blind spots with regard to game mechanics.

Deck 1: Roland Banks, the Fed Miskatonic Bladerunner

Modus operandi: Kick ass. Take names.
Roland is built to deal with any enemies that threaten the group and to investigate for clues. His combat prowess and late-game potential to do anything (Physical Training & Hyperawareness) makes him a solid front-figure for the group, freeing up the others to do what they do best.

Playing the deck:
Mulligan for Machete, Magnifying Glass, Beat Cop and Hyperawareness
Arkham Horror is a race between the Act deck and the Agenda deck. Roland should be pushing the pace, facing everything head on. Killing off any threats to the group and investigating for clues whenever there isn't. If neither of these can be done; draw cards.

Problems:
Trained and armed to deal with the worst of humanity, Roland has no means to deal with the eldritch machinations of dread that are imposing their will on his world and mind. Everything the Mythos throws at him, Roland will just have to take.

Ronald's companions:
Deck 2: Daisy Walker, Sorceress Supreme
Deck 3: Skids O'Toole, Reconnoiteur Extraordinaire
