This I think is a fine Preston Fairmont deck that plays to his wealth and privilege.

The first things to mention are the cards that require cash (resources) to power their abilities; Hard knocks for fight and evade and dig deep for... well sadly Will and evade (again). Have no fear these are your first target for upgrading to Streetwise which has the added bonus of being perminant. This then puts you in a unique and privileged position for an investigator (and as a deck builder) you can now pump every stat! Once you have a copy down use your Spare to boost stats as soon as you get them, just toss them away, you’ve got more than enough to go around. The rest of the deck is tight and as yet untested so upgrades may vary. It makes sense to buy charisma for sure and for once Joey “The Rat” Vigil makes a lot of sense as both a meat shield and an economy card for Preston who can on, occasion at least, exploit the free action to get his fire axes or his flashlights out for free.

Ok let’s talk Survivor cards! Preston is a perfect candidate for Rise To The Occasion as this works off his BASE stats so for any skills test of 3 or more. This will always put you one over a test a 3 skill value test so so to get two over for standard mode would merely take one of your many resources, just throw some cash at it Preston. Still if your net yet in business it is useful to have a lucky rabbits foot about for the extra card draw, superstition seems to be A card that Preston prefers to play close to his chest. The elephant in the drawing room here is cunning distraction, too expensive for most cash strapped survivors but our Preston is a survivor that has his cloth cut and tailored a bit differently, what does it matter if it costs 5 resources to evade even one enemy, there’s plent more in the bank. Now we are already flashing our expensive survivor cards about let’s think about bringing Aquinnah into the entourage as soon as XP and priorities allow.

Now how does a silver palmed, gold plated bachelor go about dispatching his enemies? With more money of course, money talks! I haven’t done the maths, I have an accountant for that, but I can play that event card giving me ’X’ base value for being financially well endowed then pump that stat or rise to the occasion and throw in some spares to easily pass a fight test if I just want to bop a ne’re Do well on the nose. But if Preston really want to teach that blighter a lesson he can exhaust him with my cunning then before unleashing all hell with his fire axes. Preston can go all in to get + 6 fight and +1 damage, he’ll maybe even go double or nothing for a wrapping four damage! Then even if his resource pool is empty Preston Fairmont can use his trust fund to fuel another 2 (or 4 as aforementioned) damage attack, and not an illicit tool in sight!

Most Of the time Preston will want to keep a few wads of notes about his person though as stats can be gained from remaining “Well Connected”.

I can’t wait to try out this deck!
