This deck is based on a deck that was amazing in Carcosa, but needed some changes. The old version could do anything and beat any test, because of how solid Cornered and Recall the Future makes you. Patrices card draw makes sure that you find them, and when you have them you will feel amazingly safe no matter what test you need to pass.

2xCornered will get you to a level that beats most tokens, even for hard tests. Recall the Future gives you a safeguard for the harder tokens, so be sure to think what tokens to protect from (skulls in Carcosa is often a good bet).

Use your events freely, pop emergency caches whenever you get a chance, and equip the assets you feel you need. Your combat options are Shrivelling, which explains itself, but also Fire Axe as a backup weapon. Even without resources put in, discarding two cards to Cornered makes you attack at a value of 6. 3 resources will make you fight at 8 (and you can of course combine it to attack at 12, if your tokens are extremely difficult or someone commits a Double or Nothing). The economy in this deck is based on bursts by use of Take Heart, Madame Labranche, Ecaches and Patrice's Violin, and combined with all the cheap assets and events you want to use, you will often be in range to attack with the Fire Axe. By making use of both cards and resources, you can be a competent fighter on turns when you need to. For extra value of fire axe, remember that both Madame and Violin can give you a resource as a fast action when needed.

If you want to use open gate, make sure that you move around a lot so you can put your gates down at convenient locations. Dont feel bad if you use the card for Cornered, you will draw another copy at some point. If you dont want to use open gate, I've got some recommendations on what to include below, as well as VP cards

Consider including these cards:

Peter Sylvestre - Just good to have in general, but I do not feel he is necessary. The upgraded version of him gives you more willpower, which is great.

Winging It - Winging it is extremely good with cornered, but it is going to be hard to beat the tests in the first scenarios where you do not have cornered. I chose to use flashlights instead, but later on Winging it is definitely better.

Versatile - To add cards like Winging it in at a later time. My picks for the off-class cards are Shortcut (especially if you have open gates), Leo da Luca or Lucky Cigarette Case. The card i tried was Shortcut, which was great because you will get to use it 3-6 times on average and almost everyone needs to move in a turn. Lucky Cigarette Case seems more fun since you can overcommit every turn.

Scavenging - You can use Cornered on any item, and even though the deck only has 7 items and lots of them wants to be equipped, you can keep scavenging and discarding the same item over and over, and since this deck is built for investigation at high values you will trigger it a lot. I just didn't need more than 5 cards per turn in my run, and even when i had my weakness and only drew 4 cards it didn't affect me much.

Time Warp/Eucatastrophe/Ward of Protection/Defiance - Even if these cards won't always be used, they are great when they come up. Eucatastrophe is very hard to trigger on purpose, but having it in your hand does protect you from the auto-fail, and it has two wild icons to commit to a friend. Same thing goes for the rest of the cards, you won't be able to hold on to them so they will only be useful sometimes, but when they are useful the effect is big. Dont feel afraid to ward whatever comes up during the round you draw it.

Tarots and Kaslow - Having a really high will value is great, because you can use your cards to boost other values and still be confident to use your willpower without any boosts. Your deck is bigger, but it also means that you can freely mulligan your whole hand. Patrice has good economy since she will have lots of opportunities to crack an Emergency Cache, so she can afford paying to equip the Tarots. In the cases where you draw both tarots before Anna, at least you can take comfort in knowing that you will shuffle your deck which might put Anna ahead of your Tarots again. Cornered doesnt care about what card you discard anyway, so there is no such thing as a dead draw in this deck.

Old Hunting Rifle and Will to Survive - WtS is expensive, but I think the deck can support it. With Eucatastrophe, Time Warp, Premonition and WtS, you have lots of ways to protect yourself from drawing a skull or autofail while shooting the rifle. Only problem here is hand slots, but your hand items are cheap and replacable anyway.

Drawing Thin - If any survivor can overcommit enough to use drawing thin and still succeed, it's Patrice. This deck has great synergy with drawing thin, but in reality i would say that the card draw or resource generation isn't even needed in the first place. If it wasn't for the fact that it was recently Taboo'd and now costs 3xp, I would definitely include it, but if I have to pay VP then i would rather upgrade both my Emergency Caches for 4vp than to spend 6vp on getting Drawing Thin.
