This build is relatively simple:
- Cherished Keepsake for sanity
- Leather Coat plus Guard Dog for health
- Recycle them by Yorick's ability

Damage:
Machete is awesome +1 combat, +1 dmg, no charges.
Knife plus Yorick's ability is a cheap way to get +2 check, +1 damage for 1 resource.
Lantern plus Yorick's ability can do flat damage without any checks and engagement
Guard Dog plus Yorick's ability is very good way to do flat damage without any checks. Just recycle your dog.
Clues:
We have Intellect 2 so need some abilities to pick up clues.
"Look what I found!", Evidence! and Lantern can help with this.
Summary
Build is relatively straightforward:
- Put on all recyclable gear you can and recycle it.
- Kill enemies at locations with clues and pick them up.

Gravedigger's Shovel is another good option for Yorick. You spend 2 actions and get 1 clue. It is situational but you make 1 guaranteed clue. Can help in situations when you need low number of clues. Also it does not require Investigation check so can bypass some scenario objectives (spoilers) .
In case you need it you can replace 1 Perception card.
