I made a version of this to play alongside Tony Morgan in Circle Undone.
Some notes:
Wendy does a lot of investigating and willpower tests. She wipes out treacheries for herself and Tony using Alter Fate. Tony passes his willpower tests to her otherwise (he has "You handle this one!") and she pumps her stats up with Moonstone, which she can play almost as soon as it comes into her hand, and The Moon • XVIII. Lone Wolf and Pickpocketing for resources and card draw. I would have put in Lucky Cigarette Case instead of Pickpocketing if Tony didn't have it. She keeps Tony and herself very sane with Liquid Courage.
Lockpicks are for investigating, Winging It is a freebie for her ability, "Look what I found!", Sharp Vision and Perception are just extra clueing cards, always useful.
The big thing she does is Suggestion, which powers supplementary clueing will Belly of the Beast, fuels Momentum, and also, incidentally, gets her out of scrapes. Haste is just useful. I am playing this with a combat oriented investigator as my partner, so when running is hard, Tony kills the monsters. Waylay is for emergencies, but, you know, I've never used it. I'm sure this would work as a partner for other combat oriented investigators.
Since it is pretty fun to play, I thought I would share.

If lockpicks is out, Wendy’s already doing useful stuff and she can generally wait a round or two to get all her assets out. Lone Wolf is also useful enough, since often I find that Tony (or insert combat gator here) is elsewhere, engaging the enemies or what have you. More often I find that I only ever draw what I can pay for. |
