It took me a few tries but finally I managed to defeat ugly Umordoth in solo hard mode! Jenny is probably the best investigator playing solo, but third scenario is really tough anyway.
Tips:
Get as many resources as you can, then boost your stats using Hard Knocks and Arcane Studies... that's all you need! And maybe you will get some extra actions with Quick Thinking or some extra cards playing the appropiate skill card to boost your stats even more.
2x Delve Too Deep gives you extra XP points during first scenario, then replace them with 2x Arcane Studies using Adaptable. Eventually, you will be Streetwise, then replace Arcane Studies with Physical Training and you will have no need of Hard Knocks.
Leo De Luca is the best ally here, but Guard Dog is specially useful against those ubiquitous cultists. Try to get Charisma to have both in play at the same time.
Other useful ways to spend XP: Switchblade instead of Knife or .41 Derringer, and Sure Gamble to improve your chances against the final boss.
I think it'd be better to replace 2x Emergency Cache with 2x Lone Wolf... pretty obvious, but I forgot to mention it.
