Zoey's stats make her a combat focus investigator with very little investigating prowess. When there are no enemies, Zoey's lack of intellect make her a dead weight during that round. Her base 2 intellect makes it difficult to investigate any location even with the help of stat-boosting cards such as Flashlight and Perception.

Fortunately, the Dunwich investigators' deck building requirements allow great flexibility in addressing the investigators weaknesses. Adding testless clue gathering cards - Drawn to the Flame and Art Student - allows Zoey to reliably gain clues without needing to use her dismal intellect value. These cards allow Zoey to contribute a max of 6 clues to any scenario (8 with the help of Evidence!). This allows Zoey to contribute to the team in scenarios with very little enemies in the encounter deck.

Tech Card Choices:

  1. Art Student: Aside from testless investigate, this card is a nice horror soak for Zoey's low sanity.
  2. Drawn to the Flame: Best testless investigate. Zoey's high willpower and combat mitigates almost anything the encounter deck can dish out. Make sure to use this card as your first action as you might need to fight an enemy drawn from the encounter deck.
  3. Knife: The 2-core + Dunwich cycle cardpool doesn't have enough good cards to add. This will be one of the first replacements once you start upgrading the deck.
  4. Liquid Courage: Addresses Zoey's low sanity. Her high willpower can allow her to heal 2 horror per activation. This could be replaced with Working a Hunch if you feel there is still a lack of clue gathering.
  5. Prepared for the Worst: Offers great consistency. Acts as a 3rd copy of either Machete or .45 Automatic. It also makes it easier to find Lightning Gun once we start upgrading.
