Intro
This deck should be an obvious example of Normans Power with Astronomical Atlas. Once you get this item in play, you effectively have a free card draw. The idea is to have Arcane Enlightenment, Livre and two Copies of Astronomical Atlas in play. With this you can essentially use two cards via the atlas' for a single skill test, overshoot it by a mile, get both cards commited and then use them again on your second skill test. Effectively this enables you to draw lots of cards, if played right. You can also use a single Deduction card each round for free, if you use livre to place it on top, use atlas to place it under, then commit it through atlas. This way you have an absurd high gain of clues per round for this minimalistic setup.
Most important upgrades
- Astronomical Atlas two times
- Foresight two times
Upgrades afterwards
This totally depends on your group. Nice thing about Norman is his starting point is seeker heavy but in the long run he can do everything you need. I would recommend starting with events, even if you need to focus into fight/evade/investigation:
- Fight: Spectral Razor & Storm of Spirits
- Evade: Banish & Blinding Light
- Investigate: Read the Signs
After you have the events you need (I always recommend Spectral Razor), you can either go more for the allrounder and start getting the other events or commit to specific arcane assets like Azure Flame
Notes
Combo
- Testing Sprint and Written in the Stars in Hand
- Deduction on top of deck, or at hand and placeable via Livre
- Play Written in the Stars, such that Deduction goes into every single Investigation from Testing Sprint
- Alternative could be to use something like Perception or inquiring Mind to get a very high skill for each test
Cards to omit
- Once you have both Astronomical Atlas (they are more important than Livre btw), you don't need carddraw. You only need one Guts and one Perception
- Sword Cane, you need hands for your 3 tomes.
- Testing Sprint you only need one copy. Depending on your playstyle, you might want to remove one copy of Written in the Stars
- Delve Too Deep is only nice in the beginning of a campaign
- St. Hubert's Key you also only need one copy. Though the additionals stats are really nice, so this is a maybe
- Mouse Mask you don't need at all. You easily get a free +3 through the Astronomical Atlas for the important skill tests. Playing the mask felt like an wasted action.
