This is my first deck after our initial playthrough the core campaign on standard (which we failed because Roland Banks is lead investigator, so after burning his house down he wasn't adequately prepared to take on the third mission). This is one-half of a 2-player team, the other investigator will most likely be Zoey Samaras.

Deckbuilding with just a single core set presents many challenges, (perhaps the foremost is the deck-envy when browsing this site!) but I see this as yet another fun part of the game.

There were several trade-offs I made when designing this deck, so let's talk about the cards I excluded:

I didn't include Knife because there's really no way Daisy could reasonably be expected to land a hit on anyone unless she threw it at them, and 2 actions for 2 damage didn't seem efficient.

Hyperawareness seemed unneccessary given Daisy's already high Intellect. Maybe I could use the former to help run away, but I'm using Blinding Light for that. I'm using Holy Rosary instead of Arcane Studies, even though she doesn't need the extra Sanity. I might be able to pass it off to Zoey with Teamwork.

Because I don't have two Old Book of Lore, I didn't think it was necessary to use Laboratory Assistant, and we practically never ran up against the hand limit in our first playthrough.

Strange Solution is a very interesting card, and if I were using something like Scavenging I might include it. But even with Scavenging, Strange Solution isn't very efficient. It costs an action to play and then an action (and a skill test!) to use, and only nets you two cards. Why not include some other card in the deck and just draw two cards with those actions?

I'm sure there are plenty of other options available but these are the ones I considered today, when I mostly wanted to get going. We'll see if the limited card pool with just one core set puts a damper on our investigation!
