Hi guys!! This is a deck idea I had about Marie Lambeau and I'd like to share it.

The main idea of the deck is to be able to use Blood Eclipse effectively and repeatedly while also having other tools to do the casual investigating and fighting stuff when necessary. So, in order to be able to use Blood Eclipse effectively, we need to be able to take heath hits. Leather Coat is our primary damage soak, but David Renfield can also serve that purpose, especially if he has a lot of doom on him. Dr. William T. Maleson is also another good meat shield and that is the main reason he is in the deck (his ability can also be useful sometimes, but that is not his primary role).

The point is to play Blood Eclipse, put the damage on the aforementioned assets (which will get discarded), then use Quantum Flux to recur all these cards and with the help of Feed the Mind, redraw them and replay them. While you have Blood Pact to buff most of your spells, Spirit Athame is necessary in this deck, mainly to buff Feed the Mind. The interesting part here is that while Quantum Flux will recur Blood Eclipses, Leather Coats and David Renfields, it can also recur other useful cards, like Arcane Initiate (which will also help towards drawing those Blood Eclipses) and Moonlight Ritual (which will allow you to get more value out of your David Renfield or Blood Pact).

Charisma is almost madatory in any Marie Lambeau deck because Baron Samedi takes up an ally slot, so you are almost inclined to take it to avoid your important allies getting discarded when he shows up, but taking Charisma also allows you to add some low-impact allies in your deck, which in our case are Arcane Initiate and Dr. William T. Maleson.

Unfortunately there is no room for many skill cards in this deck, so I have added what I feel is essential to every deck: 2 Unexpected Courage cards. However, you might consider swapping out Arcane Studies to make room for more. If you do, Enraptured is a good option to refill Feed the Mind and possibly another spell. I personally don't like leaving out pay-to-increase talent cards from decks that have the ability to make money, so I decided to put them in.

A problem this deck can have is that Blood Eclipse makes bad synergy with Baron Samedi. If Baron Samedi is in play, he can quite possibly prevent you from playing Blood Eclipses, because if playing a Blood Eclipse would require you to put damage on your investigator, you would be forced to receive additional damage from Baron Samedi's effect. And given that you can't get rid of Baron Samedi very easily, this could be quite problematic. A few ways to mitigate this are to have multiple assets that can take the damage, or play the Blood Eclipse taking less damage than you would otherwise want to in order to prevent damage being dealt to your investigator while he is out. You should definitely try not to shuffle him back in your deck with Quantum Flux if possible, by using it before he shows up or before you get rid of him.

Other possible Upgrades:

  • Shrivelling (3) / Shrivelling (5): Useful upgrades for any Mystic. Having Blood Pact, Spirit Athame and Blood Eclipse to do the hard work though makes these not of high priority.

  • Mists of R'lyeh (4): Using the same logic as above, this is also useful, but not necessary.

  • Bulletproof Vest: This is a nice upgrade of Leather Coat. Depending on your needs and requirements of the campaign, this can be really useful. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's definitely worth looking at.

  • Emergency Cache (2): Low priority card, useful mostly to help draw your stuff.

  • Arcane Initiate (3): This may seem like an odd upgrade, but I think that when you have many cards that add doom and only 2 Moonlight Rituals in the deck, it's useful to have the choice of whether or not you want to put doom on this card when you play it, especially for Marie Lambeau. Also of low-priority.

  • Arcane Studies (2): Getting this on the table without having to pay is very useful. The extra icons are also very helpful. Also of low-priority.

The high-priority cards are the ones that are already listed in the deck. Upgrade priority is:

  1. Charisma
  2. Blood Pact
  3. Blood Eclipse x2
  4. Feed the Mind x2
  5. Spirit Athame x2

You can consider getting Spirit Athame earlier because it's cheap XP-wise, but other than that, that is probably the order you should get these cards.
