1.0 - Overview

A successful attempt at surviving NotZ Campaign on Hard True Solo with Wendy Adams using only two core sets. This deck can also be used in multiplayer games.

This build relies heavily on optimal Will to Survive (3) usage through cards like Leo de Luca, Baseball Bat, Hard Knocks and Backstab.

The goal is to ignore heavy negative modifiers tied to Hard mode's chaos bag through Will to Survive (3), it is therefore often necessary to spend most of your actions drawing or gaining ressources (which might at first glance seems sub-optimal) in order to properly set-up your "combo".

The sole purpose of the deck was to kill the boss of the final NotZ scenario, success through the first two scenarios was therefore not really a concern, mostly because The Gathering is quite simple compared to The Devourer Below and should not be too much of a problem; and effectiveness during The Midnight Masks scenario is not really required for this deck.

Because of the deck's restriction to core set cards (which implies questionable card choices, the most obvious one being the presence of both Flashlight and Baseball Bat which is explained by the lack of better alternatives) and the difficulty of Hard Mode, victory over the campaign still relies heavily on luck especially during the last scenario. (e.g. not being too damaged/horrified by encounter cards before the boss spawns)

2.0 - How to spend experience :

Replace Leather Coat x2 by Will to Survive (3) x2

Upgrade to Leo de Luca (1) x2

Upgrade to Lucky! (2) x2

3.0 - Logs : |SPOILERS|

09/02/2019 : Managed to complete NotZ Campaign on Hard True Solo, achieving R2 on The Devourer Below (aka killing UmĂ´rdhoth).

A few notes concerning this playthrough :

The Midnight Masks went really bad, ill timed weakness drawing ended up forcing me to resign without interrogating any cultist (not as bad as it sounds though, considering doom carried over to the next scenario is almost irrelevant due to camping on Main Path strategy). Still I ended up having only 2XP to spend and therefore was not able to upgrade to Lucky! (2) x2

The Devourer Below was obviously very clutch, once again ill timed weakness drawing almost cost me the game. I was able to kill the boss with the final action of my turn, any additional damage or horror taken would have been fatal to Wendy.

Number of tries before managing to win the campaign : 5
