Silas' decision to turn away from the sea seemed mad. When you've made a name for yourself among certain international circles as a sailor so skilled you can handle even the most unsailable waters, when your abilities seem so innate that the boat is merely a neccessay inconvenience between yourself and the ocean, to turn inland makes no sense. Even to Silas, turning away because the call of the sea was too strong only made sense if you could get addicted to sea water like it was opium. He was certainly not known ever to turn away from fear, so how could he explain leaving the ocean because its love for him scared him?

But when Preston Fairmont, whom Silas had once taken on a joy trip around the Drake Passage just because he could, called to say he was going to Mexico and could use an explorer, Silas took the opportunity. Jungle rivers weren't the ocean, but his experience and courage could help, without the risk of him sailing away and never returning...

A deck for a multiplayer playthrough of The Forgotten Age; Players chose their characters and I tried to buld decks that would supplement each other.

Silas is the protector and the muscle. His primary job is to engage and evade or kill as many enemies as possible while providing support ot his teammates in the form of skill cards. The Meat Cleaver/Sylvestre combo makes damage easy, but with Peter and the right clothes you can evade as often as you kill, where necessary.

Upgrades will focus around reusing skills, with True Survivor an early replacement for Scrounge for Supplies, and upgrading the Grisly Totem and Peter Sylvestre also quite high on the list. True Survivor and Resourceful make a terrifying combo once you have them both in play.

Playing

Mulligan for one weapon, Peter Sylvestre, or Track Shoes, with equal priority.

Once they're in play, keep looking for enemies and keep your skills cycling. Try to use your special ability every turn to avoid wasting skills, and use Peter's ability as a horror soak to keep the Meat Cleaver dealing maximum damage. Remember that the Meat Cleaver can only heal horror from yourself, so if you're likely to kill with a test, you could afford to take the hit directly.

You'll need to rely heavily on your skills for and tests, but with your friends handling the clues for you and a wide set of and skills, you shouldn't find them too challenging.
