Kill things. Machete and Enchanted blade complement one another nicely. If you find a Machete first you still play the Enchanted for the moments where you're engaged with 2+ enemies and when you want the +2 to hit. If you Find Enchanted blade first you still play Machete for the infinite 2-damage hits.

Take and heal damage. The Allies and true grit give a beefy health tank to work with. Mirror, Inspiring Presence and Second wind let you recover the taken damage. Mark can spend health to beat tests but if health runs low his abilities take a massive negative hit.

Move fast. Clueing with Mark's abilities is slow going, and sometimes you need to run and help a friend, this deck packs as much speed as possible.

Beat tests. A strong set of big skill cards, Physical training and Sophie combine to let this deck beat every kind of test. With Sophie and Take the initiative he can climb to an of 7! Between Daring and Initiative this deck can even tackle the high requirements of Forgotten age.

Upgrades: Go for Beat Cop immediately, this card simultaneously generates cards and damage! Then tackle the economy with Stick to the Plan, replacing Emergency Cache with one copy each of Emergency Cache and Ever Vigilant and upgrading to Physical Training.

At that point the deck is insanely fast, versatile and powerful. You can look into lots of upgrades like Safeguard, Vicious Blow, "I've had worse…" and other quality of life stuff.
