Made for a friend who only has 1 core, Dunwich and a couple of starter decks. Paired with Zoey.

Burglary lets you print money AND get a clue if you succeed by two, then you can use that money to pump your book stat even more with either hyperawareness or arcane studies (whichever one you get first, don't bother putting both out). Milan obviously synergises with this really well too. Quick Thinking is a bit of spice (extra action for doing the thing Rex wants to do anyway!) and then most of the other cards help you not be completely useless when it comes to treacheries and enemies. Use your Lab Assistants for early draw but then don't be scared to let them die. When Rex does need to deal with an enemy he normally wants to evade them and not fight but there's also "I've got a plan!" for when you need to actually hurt people.

Useful stuff to remember:

-Rex and Milan have both been errata-ed to only trigger once per turn because otherwise they break the game.

-You can't use Flashlight and Burglary (or Seeking Answers) together because they're separate triggers, but Magnifying Glass works with any of them because they're all investigate effects. Once you're able to upgrade your deck I'd cut some of the superfluous events for the upgraded versions of Deduction and Magnifying Glass for the sake of consistency.

-You can spend as much as you want to pump your stats with Arcane Studies/Hyperawareness (it's not just 1 time per test)

Everything else should be pretty intuitive.
