This fairly unassuming Skids deck is the start of my 1 core skids slayer build. It's mostly about priming yourself for later down the line. This will be played as a full on slayer deck, meant to fill a multiplayer role similar to that of a Guardian. While you might pick an occasional clue, your main role is to defeat monsters.

Upgrade Path and General Strategy

Your first and most important buys are 2 copies of Chicago Typewriter, as early as you possibly can. This card has a very high damage/ammo ratio, and we seek to use that to our advantage. Usually we can get this in our hand fairly early with Prepared for the Worst, and extend its lifetime with Contraband and later with Extra Ammunition as well. Likely you replace your copies of Flashlight.

Continue your upgrade path with Extra Ammunition, and Vicious Blow. Hot Streak is helpful since we will want a lot of money. Like most Skids decks our weakness is sanity, so you may wish to give yourself a bit of a buffer with a couple of Elder Sign Amulets.

Between the Typewriter, Vicious Blow, and Double or Nothing, Skids can defeat even very powerful monsters very quickly. Don't be afraid to spend extra actions on the Typewriter to make sure that you have an excellent chance of scoring hits.

Mulligan Guide:

Early on a Machete or .45 Automatic will do, but you really are trying to mulligan for Chicago Typewriter once you have it in your deck, or else Prepared for the Worst. An early Lone Wolf is also extremely useful.

Carcosa cards:

This is based on a deck I made before Carcosa came out. Current players may find Sleight of Hand to be useful! We don't run [Lockpicks] (/card/03031) because we will need both our hands for Chicago Typewriter.
