This deck plays very fast and very cheap. You have several cheap ways of boosting your , which will help you proc Rex Murphy's ability multiple times per turn.

Just about every card in this deck costs 2 resources or less, and that is to help you pay for your Dynamite Blast. Using Bait and Switch, Barricade, and Think on Your Feet you will have several tools available to try and gather multiple enemies into 1 connecting location for your Dynamite Blast. Alternatively, if you're engaged with several enemies, you can play Shortcut to bring them to a location of your choice without triggering attacks of opportunity (either to drag them away from a teammate, or to bring them into other enemies), and then Dynamite Blast your own location. This is the riskiest move, and it's the reason why this deck carries 2x Medical Texts.

Please don't be fooled though, this deck is not a fighting deck, and you want to avoid engagements at all cost. You carry no weapons and hopefully shouldn't have to take a single Fight action in the whole game. You want to be leaving engagements and fighting to your friend who is hopefully much better equipped to deal with engaging and defeating/evading monsters. Shortcut also helps here, because you can get yourself closer to a teammate, to get help, without triggering attacks of opportunity.

Seeking Answers and Deduction combo very well together for getting clues from high shroud locations, or locations swamped with enemies, or just generally locations you don't want to visit due to negative 'Forced' effects from the location.

Barricade won't often be played for the event, except when your facing dangerous hunter type enemies that are preying on you. But it's an excellent card to keep for committing to the types of tests you'll be making most as Rex. Mind over Matter you should feel free to commit to a friend's or , or use it for the one and only time you try punching an enemy in the face.

Dr. Milan Christopher isn't really a necessary card, and could easily be swapped with another card. I think he's a great card for starting hand, but once you get to mid or late game, his becomes less valuable, and he becomes too costly. If I don't draw him in the first few turns, I'm usually just using it to commit to tests.

Laboratory Assistant is a very good defensive card. Playing it just for the isn't valuable since it's effectively 4 actions to draw 2 cards (draw Laboratory Assistant, gain 1 resource x2, play Laboratory Assistant), instead of just taking the draw 1 card action x2. Her passive ability can sometimes come in handy, especially when scenario agendas or other game effects are limiting your hand size. But the reason this card becomes valuable is because she's very easy to assign damage/horror to, since after her procs, you don't really need her anymore.

The Magnifying Glass x2 is a no brainer, and the Strange Solution is included for curiosity's sake. If this card turns out to be unrewarding, it could be switched with a Flashlight for even more powerful Investigate actions.

Guts is included just as some safety against tests. You'll most likely only be making these tests from encounter cards, but feel free to commit this one to your friend's tests too. Manual Dexterity is one of Rex's few methods for escaping from an enemy, so try to hold onto them for Evade tests. Perception is here to help proc Rex Murphy's while investigating high shroud locations. Unexpected Courage just because. It could've been another Guts card, but tests shouldn't be too common with this deck, so just having a 'catch-all' skill card can increase your survivability with a lot of encounter cards.

First buy with your experience gained should definitely be Disc of Itzamna. I would swap out Dr. Milan Christopher for this. Second buy could be a Bulletproof Vest if you've taken any physical trauma, otherwise Cryptic Research is the best way to go. There's no need to upgrade your Magnifying Glass since your only other hand asset is Medical Texts.

Have you tried this deck solo?

Haven't played it solo. Definitely built it with the idea of having a heavy hitter to back me up
