This is the deck I ended up with after finishing the core campaign with 8 xp in S1, 11 (max!) xp and all cultists in S2, and R1 in S3 (with turns to spare!). I was in a team with 2 other experienced players with Skids and Daisy.

This deck is largely a standard Agnes build, with the addition of a leveled up Peter Sylvestre from Dunwich in place of Rosary after I had the xp to pay for it. Every card on that final list proved its worth, aside from Arcane Initiate (didn't even play it!) and Fearless (not a bad card, but I was never hurting too badly for horror healing).

Pete was, as predicted, an absolute star. They don't call him the Big Man on Campus for nothing! The agility boost is almost incidental and even then puts you up to a surprisingly reasonable 4, the heal helps if you pull your weakness... He's all round great, only 1 more to play than the rosary with additional soak, AND leaves your accessory slot free for your Heirloom if you happen to draw it early (which I did in one game!).

In all honesty, Agnes ended up being on 'mop up' duty. She couldn't match the damage of Machete- and Dynamite-wielding Skids, and was nowhere close to the clue finding power of Daisy.

What she could do, though, was to move around Arkham and the woods by herself without needing support to deal with treacheries or enemies. She was able to help with combat and ping enemies with her ability, and pull up clues off fogged/locked locations with Drawn to the Flames. She could keep Daisy safe while she was investigating (and disrupting the ritual), help Skids with a big enemy to finish it off, spawn cultists in S2, filter the encounter deck with the odd spare action for Scrying (usually better than a random click for a buck!) and occasionally take a hit or two to the face.

Between Skids and Agnes we could let Daisy focus on farming clues, which gave us a chance to clear out S2, and which consequently gave us a much better shot at finishing S3!

Nice write-up. How'd Leather Coat work out for you? It's a card I want to like (sweet cost, good facility, ok pip) but often find I don't have time to get onto the table.

Would you consider any of the Dunwich Legacy cards for this sort of build? How do you feel about Bind Monster versus Blinding Light? Seems former is more of a control, and latter a straight damage card in Agnes' hands.

Leather Coat was good as I couldn't seem to stop drawing Nightgaunts in S2! I like as Agnes being able to take a hit by triggering an AoO as it's often enough to finish an enemy off without needing to attack again. Means you can keep your action efficiency high!

I was pondering Bind Monster actually. There was some chat about it on the Discord, and the argument is that Blinding Light is nice even just as a damage spell (especially upgraded), albeit one that needs you to be engaged. It certainly did some work in this campaign (crucially it evaded the Masked Hunter in S2 and let Skids continue to pound on him). On the flipside, I can't think of many times in the core campaign at least where it's easier to hold an enemy in place rather than dealing with it directly. I'll experiment with Bind Monster in the future I think dpending on what Dunwich throws our way.

I can potentially see Ritual Candles going in for Flashlight in a 3+ player campaign initially; it's cheap, it's hands which you aren't using, and it turns some of those pesky -3s into -2s.

Wow this is a wicked end of campaign deck. Congrats on the win. I haven't managed to beat The Devourer Below with R1 yet. I think that Ritual Candles is a really good card. Giving the special icons each +1 can really skew the odds in your favour (especially if it turns the 2 Skulls into a success).

Thanks @PaxCecilia, I've gotta say my team deserve a lot more of the credit than me!

S2 was really the key part, a good finish there sets you up very well for a good end to S3. And S3 needs to be an efficient 'Daisy Delivery System', getting her set up at the ritual site with her Encyclopedia ready to pump the clues down (while everyone else holds back the hordes of Cultists and... worse things).

I read your comment on Reddit about S2 the other day, the bit that really strikes me is that you haven't got time to Spawn -> Deal -> Spawn -> Deal.

You need to be finding cultists constantly and dealing with them when it's not a loss of tempo to do so (The Masked Hunter is the exception, he really needs to be tackled as soon as he appears, so you need to be set up ready to receive him!). For us I think the Mortician came out first before the agenda advanced, and yet she was maybe the 4th cultist we dealt with.
