deck overview
Attach The Necronomicon to Library Pass, use it, then put it on the bottom. Use Scroll of Secrets fueled by Ariadne's Twine/Eldritch Sophist to put The Necronomicon on top of your deck: this loops the book while locking away the Dreams of the Flood (this combo works better with Scroll of Secrets, so you can still get filtered card draw).
role - cluever
suggested environment - 2+, hard+
deck archetype/keystone (if any) - The Necronomicon
notable tech cards and combos
- Grim Memoir + Library Pass can be a backup combo when the The Necronomicon can't be used.
- use Slip Away + Lucius Galloway's to get away from annoying enemies while getting clues. Remember to use Book of Verse when needed to proc "succeed by" thresholds.
- Research Librarian + Astounding Revelation > The Necronomicon/Scroll of Secrets/Grim Memoir.
This is a quick overview of a deck I played. All decks are presented with the minimum exp needed to highlight their main gimmick. Further upgrade ideas may be shown in the “side deck” section. Environment: legacy, TDC release, taboo 24.10
I like it - unlimited The Necronomicon with Library Pass seems well worth the steep XP cost of admission! My thoughts would be ditch Ariadne's Twine, take In the Thick of It and run two Scroll of Secrets •••. Then, alternate between using Necronomicon on Library Pass and Scroll of Secrets on Library pass (using your second Scroll of Secrets to recover the first, to keep this looping), rather than worrying about Ariadne's Twine economy.
I had thought about running Scroll of Secrets and Library Pass on Lucius myself, given it's a perfect foil for Dreams of the Flood which is otherwise pretty brutal. However I couldn't think of a way to make it interesting - I'd say adding The Necronomicon into the mix accomplishes that, so kudos!
