Based on a number of the no/low skill card builds, this version of Mark is intended for hard mode. Bringing risk control and mitigation combined with a consistent suite of weapons, this build aims at consistency over power.

Notably, we use Scene of the Crime and Evidence to allow us to avoid using flashlight. This clears our upgrade path for two-handed weapons.

As a result, our first buy is Stick To The Plan, and our next buy is a lightning gun. Combined with our draw and holding out Prepared For The Worst, we can exert an atypical amount of control over our board state for a guardian.

Bravo. This elegantly demonstrates just how much of an impact Scene of the Crime is going to have for guardians.

I think I'd be fond of a single Backpack here; with 8 cards to find that you actually care about it will make a nice complement to your other tutor effects and aid consistency.

I'd cut the "If it bleeds..." to make space for it. I really have never found it to be clutch, and if you're in multiplayer then your allies should be aware of your sanity problem and cover for you with things like Ward of Protection and Liquid Courage.

I also believe that this could be an adequate solo deck by switching the multiplayer cards out for Flashlights. In that case I'd also consider switching the Colt for another Knife.

Is the Colt the card that you replace for your Lightning Gun?

Sorry, obviously I meant Ward of Protection (2).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd drop the Colt for the l-gun. I'm not sure you'll hit quite often enough with backpack at 8, because you often end up mulliganing into a number of your items.

Sell me on it?

I did something similar with this build, but I went with the Shotgun instead of the l-gun and added Extra Ammunition in with Stick to the Plan. Do you think the l-gun is better?

I don't know that it's better, but it is a lot simpler and on the higher difficulties, the minimal variability of the l-gun is nice. I think the shotgun is way cooler though....
