THIS SERIES OF DECKS HAVE NOW BEEN REVISED PLEASE SEE THESE LINKS FOR THE NEW DECKS USING THE SAME CONCEPT BUT BASED ON MORE EXPERIENCE:

This is one of five decks designed to create as close possible to a pick up and play version of the base game from 2 core sets. The intention is that with all 5 constructed, up to 4 players can simply select the character of their choice needing only to transfer the following 6 cards from whichever char is not in play to any deck missing them:

2x Flashlight,

2x Knife, and

2x Emergency Cashe

All other cards have been distributed among the five chars in such a way as to make legal decks which are (hopefully) functional and reasonably thematic. Basically a rationalisation of the starter decks from the manual. Obviously this has required the odd compromise, so please do not expect these to be strong decks or all choices to be perfectly thematic but ive done what I can. Finally, these are very much work in progress, so any suggestions are welcome, but please be aware that adding a card to one char requires taking it from another.

The other decks can be found here:

Playing as Daisy:

Knowledge is power, or in this case support. This bookworm offers a solid utility class and is search engine to rival google. With 4 tomes and a little assistance from those 2 researchers, getting that first tome out early should be fairly easy. Preference is likely to be for the Old book of Lore essentially offering free card draw for the rest of the game. The medical texts facilitate an optional healer role later in the game. Clue hunting is her other primary function making good use of that 5 Lore with bonuses to investigation, don’t forget to shout “bing” every time you find something. The hand full of spells she has should be reserved for escaping a tight spot though don’t be afraid to use mind over matter aggressively if cornered.

Great effort, this was something I was hoping to set up for my first 4-player game. Glad to see someone had the same idea (and the motivation to actually do it!)

Your Skids hotlink should say "view" instead of "edit" though.

Just received my own Coreset yesterday, i'm gonna start today, juste one question.

is it the same "shitty" story than "lotr lcg" where like, 2 coresets are needed to have the "big" cards in x2 ?

Do you feel it the same way here or is 1 coreset is ok to build decks with ?

Any "2X really needed and strong" cards in here (like steward of gondor, test of will, unexcepted courage, etc.. in lotr ?)

Basically, is this game also required a 2nd coreset to build "properly" ?

Cheers.

Ao.

A single core set only comes with 2x Neutral cards. Every single faction card (Guardian, Seeker, Rogue, Mystic and Survivor) is a 1 of. If you want to engage in deck building before expansions start coming out, you will need a second core set or the only things you will be able to adjust are which Neutral skills you are using, and how you choose to level up as you progress.

Not a super satisfying answer, but you will not need to buy 3 core sets, just 2. IMO that's already better than most of their LCGs.

Yeah, i just end up with my first (initiation) game. And yeah... I can already say that, if you're looking in optimizing your deck, you'll defenatly need some of the "good" cards twice in your deck... (like dodge for exemple...)

Such a shame that ffg is always doing that with his coreset...

Specially this one. Almost the same price as lotr, and like 150 less cards, for a game where you can put cards x2 (instead of x3...) with decks of 30 (instead of 50...) They could defenatly put those "good cards" in 2 copy...

Tired about that ffg policy.. really..

Thanks for the answer anyway !

have fun ;)
