"He's just a poor boy from a poor family, Spare him his life from this monstrosity. Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?"

This is a "Ashcan" Pete solo deck, just desperately trying to survive whatever horrors lay in store for him. This is a low-resource build, taking advantages of Dark Horse, Fire Axe + other cards giving you static bonuses.

Investigating You start with Duke, which already covers 1- and 2-shroud locations. You pump it up with Magnifying Glass to reliably investigate 3-shroud locations. For 4-shroud, you have "Look what I found!". If you have the resources, play it, if not, just commit it for . That's also why there is no Perception.

Fighting monsters Again, Duke covers most low-level enemies, but without any reliable strength boosts he is going to need help on bigger monsters. Lucky!, Overpower and Vicious Blow helps with pumping Strength up and dealing damage. Pete can also deal some serious punishment with Fire Axe. Ideally, you spend your only resource to Fire Axe, giving you +2 and +1 from Dark Horse and then continue with Duke with 5 str as well. Knife is there just to complete the arsenal for emergencies until Fire Axe arrives.

Moving around Duke's best ability is to move AND investigate during one turn. In solo, one must save as many actions as possible, especially if he is running without Leo De Luca. Survival Instinct also accomplishes the same thing, Evade + Move.

Combos Scavenging is there to recycle cards discarded to ready Duke, + it can be used to reuse Knife or Leather Coat, if needed. Forbidden Knowledge can help you stage resources as you need, with Peter Sylvestre soaking the horror. Rabbit's Foot is there just to make things arrive faster, later its icon is more useful.

Upgrades Number one priority should be Peter Sylvestre, then it depends on what you expect. Flare can replace Knife for extra damage, Survival Instinct gives you + evade all. Bulletproof Vest can replace Leather Coat for more health soak and better skill icons (to be recycled through Scavenging). Scrapper will give you a reliable way to get rid of resources, Charisma will allow to add Dunwich Legacy allies to your deck

"Nothing really matters to me. Any way the wind blows."

Isn't Dark Horse limit 1 per investigator?

@CZCuckoo Only in play, not in deck.

@ShagratAre you sure? Why wouldn't they just put the "unique" symbol on it if it's only one in play, like they do with Peter Sylvestre. They already have a mechanic for only one in play.

@CZCuckoo That would limit it to one in game (for all investigators). Check the Rules Reference for the word Limit. I believe that if they wanted to restrict it for only one copy in deck, they would make it Exceptional.
