As part of the CRANK DAT JANK UP series, there's enough jank already to deal with, no need to worry about taboo compliance. There's no question it is a suboptimal deck.

This deck is part of a submission for a competition held by Northern Lights over Arkham: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX3N-zHXrg8

Fodder card selected: Disc of Itzamna

Scenario selected: Curse of the Rougarou

HEADCANNON

It's the quiet students that can be the problem ones. Those that just shut you out no matter how much you try to reach them. Sometimes it's family problems at home. Sometimes it's just the way they were born. Meanwhile, others have recurring problems ... addictions.

Such is the uncontrollable spiral that Minh has travelled down, starting with a cute little artifact that she found in an alleyway. It made her feel safe. It made her feel warm. It made her feel nice thoughts. What's not to like? She wore it with her everywhere she went.

Other people do not understand her, nor her little disc. Nasty people, they should go away! Meddling into her business. No, she does not have a problem. It is THEY that have a problem, not liking Minh and her disc.

Yes! Go away! Leave us alone! Good riddance. Then they can't separate us. We can be together, always. We must run, far away where people can't reach us.

NO! Nasty creatures! Stole it and went away! Nasty! NASTY!

Get it back! At all costs! Life is incomplete without!

It may be near, in the bushes, in the trash... find it!

FIND IT!

DECK

This deck is focused on the Disc of Itzamna, keeping it on for protection as much as possible, while discarding it should there be an enemy spawning at your location.

Scavenging is then to recur the disc back, either to hand or to be played immediately, provided the investigation succeeded by 2.

MULLIGAN

Minh has 2 primary assets that this relies on, Disc of Itzamna and Scavenging. Hard mulligan for those 2. Charles Ross, Esq. or Drawing Thin would be the next priority for economy generation/sufficiency.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

Minh's primary source of enemy management would be discarding the disc without a fight. With scavenging in play, it is recommended to go 4 up above an investigation, so that you may activate scavenging's .

She has some tools available for favourable investigates: Cryptographic Cipher (don't be afraid to use the normal ), Inquiring Mind, Perception, and Segment of Onyx.

If you already have the disc in play, and want to investigate hard on a location, commit Segment of Onyx, then Scavenging's can be used on the committed Segment of Onyx. It is primarily not for Pendant of the Queen. This Minh's not a queen, she's an addict, scavenging for discs and segmented scraps.

Other avenues for enemy management are "I've got a plan!", Barricade, and Hiding Spot, more for flavour, but also for desperation. "I've got a plan!" Would be when she i faced with an Elite enemy. Let's hope it's not too often.

Scenario

The selected scenario to accompany this deck is Curse of the Rougarou, mainly because the of the potential enemies in that scenario, but also for the amount of investigating needed. This deck will struggle against enemies that spawn elsewhere and have the Hunter keyword, of which there are 3. So listen closely: 2 of them spawn on Bayou locations, and it is in your best interest to discard them through the methods above. Aim to end your turn on a Bayou location. If they spawn and you're on a non-bayou location, they will hunt you down, and wreck this deck. Your main options are Barricade and Hiding spot, just to buy time. The other 1 enemy has 3 health and is killable via "I've got a plan!", so it's not the end of the world. And maybe you might be able to pull off a pendant, but then you're ditching your true love for a shiny new thing. Shame on you!

With that in mind, it's very very possible that this deck gets shut down through the above-mentioned circumstances (enemy spawning at a different location, and hunting you down). But hey! What's the point of jank without a little risk?

Minhzamna's addiction

With the Disc being your main source of protection, you're going to feel quite naked to enemies without it. As you should with this deck. Channel that obssession. Channel that paranoia. That card that was once just binder fodder, is now Precious! You need it! You must have it! Doesn't matter what you've got to scavenge through to get it!
