Hello newcomers, welcome to Arkham!
This deck is built around the idea that you have bought a Revised Core Set a couple of months ago, and just got Dunwich Investigator and Campaign boxes, but still not really sure how to dive into this awesome 8 part campaign. You probably play true solo, even tho in the future you will most likely switch to two-handed solo. But there is that special feeling when playing true solo, it is even more special when you dive into Dunwich campaign for a couple of first times with new investigators. Prepare yourself for a wild ride, and get ready to fall in love with this game!
(Most of Zoey starter decks on this site are for multiplayer or 2 handed games, this one is meant for pure solo)
So you have chosen Zoey as your first investigator? Bold choice! When looking at her statline you will immediately see that she is one hell of a chef! 4 willpower and 4 strength show you that she has no issues with the encounter deck, and when enemies show up, oh boy, that is where she shines. You will slice and dice all those pesky ghouls and monsters in the name of God and then maybe cook a stew after, maybe even from those cut-off parts if you really are as crazy as you seem to be, why not? Who am i to judge you?
To start off, you will also see that you only have 2 intellect. Uff, that will be rough! Luckily for us, Dunwich investigators have this cool deckbuilding thing that lets them grab 5 cards from any other class, which is really cool. We will use all of those splash slots to cover our weak zone, which is collecting clues. Mystic class has a couple of really good cards that let us use our Willpower to do things, and well would you look at that, we also have awesome willpower!! Time to grab Rite of Seeking. What else did we say we are cool with? Oh yes, encounter deck! Why not grab Drawn to the Flame then too? Awesome!!! For our last card i think we will grab this cool little card called Shortcut. Movement is pretty crucial, especially if you play solo as it takes a lot of your precious little actions, and this card just rocks. If you don't want it and it seems a bit weak, you can just switch it out for your favorite card or grab something usefull like Working a Hunch, it should be fine either way.
So we got our fight covered with weapons, resources just come by themselves with our ability, encounter deck is no problem, what the hell is going on and why is Zoey so cool? Yup, she is... "But man, why is Taunt here, i see that most decks on this site don't use it?" Trust me my friend, when you see some birds gathering around you in this campaign and this strange feeling of dread starts slowly creeping up your spine and then see Taunt in your hand, you will know why! Also, this card has an awesome artwork, also 2 relevant icons for you to commit, so just trust me.
And that is basically it! This is probably the best we can get out of the collection you have, and this is pretty good actually. If you wanna play some cool new cards like "If it bleeds..." then go ahead and just put it in, you are meant to have fun and test things, because every player has a different playstyle and do not let anyone ruin your fun!
(Note to add : I STRONGLY recommend buying 5 starter decks for this game as they give you some really cool cards and are really good for beginners!)
Have fun!
