Leo & Finn Team-Up Deck:

  • Idea is to have Finn and Leo work together to make Knuckleduster's work well excellently.
  • Finn's role is to evade everything and Leo's role is to punch it.
  • Meant to be played in 2 player games, no idea what it'd be like in 4 player.
  • Not recommended for TFA as sometimes you don't want things to die there.
  • Heavily dependent on being in same location often, but not always.
  • Clue gathering speed dependent on whether or not #Milan is drawn first.
  • Difficulty: Standard to Hard
  • Scenarios tested: Core / Carnivale
  • See Leo's deck here: Leo Anderson

MULLIGANA:

  • You want Dr. Milan Christopher, Hard Knocks, Peter Sylvestre, and Magnifying Glass / Emergency Cache.
  • Milan does 2 things, gets you clues and resources for HK. Once Milan has served his purpose Mag Glass can stand in for your boost, replace Milan with Peter.
  • Getting Peter first. If Peter is all you got then great, now you're an evasion machine and you don't have to worry about taking horror from tests. But your resources will be low and you'll need a Flashlight to better get clues. If you have Peter, Flashlight and Sleight of Hand, you're going to reap a lot of benefits.
  • With Peter out you can't get resources from Burglary reliably on 3 shrouds. So, Lonewolf would be best pairing, if it shows.

PILOTING I don't know how to write piloting blurbs. So here's a sorry excuse for one.

Key Cards:

  • Milan: Speeds up clue gathering and adds to resource pool.
  • Peter: Smooths over checks and handles horror dealt by some checks.
  • Hard Knocks: for adding + to evasion checks.
  • Emergency Cache: hold on to one copy to help refund or pay for Peter.
  • Burglary: Adds to resource pool when bad guys are exhausted, can also help pay for Peter.
  • Sleight of Hand: Double your flashlight bulbs .
  • Eavesdrop (Replace SoH): double your clue intake, if and only if you succeed at evading and then if and only if you succeed at an check.

Random Hand Example: Perception X2, Smuggled Goods, Dr. Milan Christopher, You Handle This One!

  • In this case I would keep Milan, and mulligan 4 cards to hopefully get Peter Sylvestre and/or Hard Knocks. I don't need Perception cause I already have Milan to boost my and grant me resources. Though you could keep one to pull another card on a successful investigation.
  • Mulligan Result: ended up with Dr Milan X2, Mag Glass, Lone Wolf, and .41 Derringer. That's bad but could be worse.
  • First play Milan, of course.
  • Investigate to get a clue and a resource.
  • Play Mag Glass action free, paying 1 resource.
  • Final action can be used to play Lone Wolf for when you're all alone with the things that go bump in the night.
  • Hard Knocks came soon after and I had enough to throw it down, luckily Finn's already high plus the icons on Narrow Escape, I'm Outta Here, and his other skill cards makes not having Peter out at the start manageable.

Clue Gathering

  • Milan should be played first to bring in clues and the resources needed to fund hard knocks.
  • When Milan is replaced with Peter to deal with enemies, and horror due to Finn’s low rely on Flashlights (save a Sleight of Hand or two to double up) and Magnifying Glass.
  • Icons can also be used from several cards if desperate. Cards including Sleight of Hand, extra copy of Burglary, Perception, and You Handle This! can boost Finn if he’s out of Flashlight bulbs, or has lost his Magnifying Glass.
  • Alternatively you may be able to substitute the two sleight of hand for two copies of Eavesdrop. But that likely works better in 3-4 player groups.

Evade and Mitigate Retaliate for Leo’s Knuckledusters with Peter, Milan and Hard Knocks.

  • Use hard knocks to +3 checks.
  • When Peter is in play you get 5 , making evasions much more smooth.
  • Milan should be played first and the clues/resources he helps to reap will be useful via Hard knocks.
  • Burglary is another way to fund Hard Knocks for evading/exhausting enemies.
  • Watch This! Is another excellent way to fund Finn’s evasion checks, while evading!

Smuggling the Goods (Smuggled Goods):

  • One of the most interesting signature cards.
  • Here it’s mainly used to funnel out Burglary for its icon or to pay for the BMOC.
  • It’s also most useful to funnel out a weapon, either .41 Derringer or Finn's Trusty .38 when you need a little extra damage.

What!? No Pickpocketing!?

  • You can totally sub Lonewolf and one copy of an event to throw in one or two pickpocketing. But I had a hard time using the level 0 version.

UPGRADES: Streetwise, Charisma, Pickpocketing lvl 2.
