This deck is made for 2-handed solo play. Norman 's main role is quite obvious and plays to his strengths: The finding of clues. He starts with his 5 book rating, which is already excellent, and can theoretically get to 8 with St. Hubert's Key, Magnifying Glass, and Dr. Milan Christopher. And that's just the starting value without skill cards like Deduction and Inquiring Mind. If he is able to set-up even half of his clue-seeking arsenal, he should be able to handle even the hardest shroud values with ease.

His secondary role is to disrupt the encounter deck. For this, he has Dr. William T. Maleson, a Ward of Protection, and, of course, his special Split the Angle. Sadly, we only have space for a single Ward of Protection because we need the other four Mystic slots for two each of Shrivelling and St. Hubert's Key.

Finally, he can use his Shortcuts and a full complement of skill cards to provide strong support for his teammate (who needs to be a good fighter, for obvious reasons), or to get himself out of a tight spot. That said, enemies who expect him to be an easy target will occasionally get a big surprise if he can pull of "I've got a plan!" while carrying some clues. Or they can find themselves suddenly shrivelled or faced with the awesome power of Norman's mind.

In the immortal words of Iceman: Norman can be his wingman any time!

I don't really like playing this many skills in a Norman deck. Too many opportunities to get useless cards stuck on top of the deck.
