Made with the guidance of the fine minds over at Miskatonic University Radio!

My goal behind here was to create a deck that is able to fail its way to success as much as possible, while still being playable and fun. I think there are a couple ways to go about this - certainly there’s a Wendy version of this deck - but I thought Silas’s ability to play around with skill cards could help to fail in just the right way. Or not at all, if you just need a win. The key cards in this regard are Drawing Thin (which is just amazing in general), , and Live and Learn. Rabbit's Foot is obvious. Ideally you’ll upgrade your Oops! pretty quickly too. There’s also a nice control of horror with Meat Cleaver and Peter Sylvestre, which makes it worth playing with the desperate skills and Fight or Flight.

For the details, listen to the episode - thanks again to Dan, Dane, and Ben!

Thank you for sharing this. I just listened to and enjoyed the episode. Congrats on fine work. Unfortunately, Drawing Thin does not interact with Live and Learn in the manner you expect. I know you had high hopes for Live and Learn but I don't think it fits in this deck--it doesn't interact well with treacheries, or retaliate enemies, or after you miss enemies engaged with friends and hit them, or lose the Baseball Bat, or use Drawing Thin. I think you should replace those cards with Flashlights since you have "Look what I found!" and since it's one of the best ways of removing Dreams of the Deep. I think Run For Your Life obviously needs to go because I can't think of what check you're going to desperately need to get all the way up to 9 agility. Manual Dexterity is a strict upgrade, but I'd suggest you probably can move away from the basic neutral skills (including Overpower) so I'd suggest removing those two for a couple Unexpected Courages.

Thanks for your response and suggestions! Yep, I totally missed the parenthesis on Live and Learn...I think the core concept still works with the card, but Silas will get dinged up a bit more than I initially expected, for all those reasons you list. I'm hesitant to add Flashlight just to account for Dreams, I still think Live and Learn will work out in those situations. I absolutely agree with you about the Desperate skill spread. Maybe I can swap some of those out for Unexpected Courages or even Perception (to plug up some of the holes you mentioned before).
