Dexter Drake Strategy Tips
Dexter Drake is an asset-focused mystic who can make his assets disappear and change before your very eyes! Using his ability, Dexter can turn spells or items that have run out of uses into other assets, or get rid of assets he no longer needs in favor of different ones.
Thanks to his ability to switch assets around, Dexter is quite versatile and can handle almost any aspect of gameplay, with the right cards. Need to dispatch an enemy? Ditch something in favor of a Shrivelling or .41 Derringer. Need to investigate? Turn it into a Flashlight! Need to evade? Now it’s a Sword Cane! You can even use Dexter’s ability to get rid of assets that have become a liability, such as an Arcane Initiate or a Dark Ritual. If you have Showmanship in play, you can get a hefty bonus when using whatever asset you put into play, so keep on switching it up to get the most out of each asset.
This deck also includes several cards that can add curse tokens to the chaos bag in order to gain a benefit. If the bag ever has too many curse tokens in it, try using a Dark Ritual or a Tides of Fate to turn your bad luck into good luck.
Occult Scraps can prove to be a hassle to deal with, especially if you’re trying to take advantage of Dexter’s high willpower. Try using his ability to swap Occult Scraps into play, then use it again next turn to swap it out for something else. A fast card like Switchblade might not get much use with Dexter, but it can allow you to quickly throw a different card into play using his ability!
The PDF actually contains 4 skill cards, but I have removed those two that I've seen removed in other Dexter starter decks (Opportunist & Fearless) in order to make the deck valid.
