This deck list was designed with the sole intention of pulling off a fun combo with Rex Murphy and the Ancient Stone. I realise it's probably not the most practical deck, but I've had fun playing it, and it turned curse of the Rougarou into a breeze!!!

The Rex Bomb.

The Rex Bomb, involves Rex Murphy, having an Ancient Stone in play with plenty of secrets on it. You then take a test having committed Take Heart. Should you fail this test Take Heart will trigger giving you 2 cards and 2 resources, and allowing you to inflict 2 damage by triggering Ancient Stone.

BUT....Should you happen to pull an elder sign that's when you get the full effect. You take the option on Rex to deliberately fail the test and draw 3 cards, plus the 2 cards from Take Heart, you then shout REX BOMB and inflict 5 damage to an enemy.

AND.....Should you happen to have 2x Ancient Stones in play and Rabbit's Foot, you could potentially do 12 damage to an enemy in one action!!! Your major issue then being where you're going to put all those cards!

Problems....

Well firstly you have to get the elder sign! I'm just putting the finishing touches to the deck I've been running along side this one to help get the token, so I'll put all the info in that description which will hopefully be up by the end of the week.

However Rex has got a couple of tricks up his sleeve. Firstly you could just forget all that an use Search for the Truth when you've got 5 clues BUT WHERE'S THE FUN IT THAT???? Also strangely Rex's Curse actually increases the chances of you hitting the elder sign, especially if you are attempting an easy test (e.g. investigating a low shroud location.)

The next problem is that it takes at least 2 scenarios to get Ancient Stone, and probably 3 to get both of them. Also you've got to try to get the highest difficulty you can during the test to identify. Typically this will be 7 or 8, but if you can get a friend to chuck in Double or Nothing (which unfortunately Rex Murphy can't run!!!!) you could get it up to 14 or 16. Once Higher Education is in play and a few skill cards are in hand this is fairly doable!

Once you've run out of secrets, you've got Truth from Fiction, to top it up, plus you can recycle it with Scavenging. And if that fails, well chances are you're going to cycle your deck anyway!!

Finally the deck has got a couple of minibombs such as Old Book of Lore, Preposterous Sketches, even a cheeky Perception can be used.

Anyway like I said, I'm sure it could be improved, certainly from a solo point of view, definitely agility tests are problem, so maybe swap a couple of skill cards for Manual Dexterity, and maybe upgrade to Hyperawareness.

The combo is pretty cool, I gotta try that one day.

Double or Nothing increases the difficulty but does not increase a locations shroud. Also noting the outcome twice in campaign log does not increase charges of ancient stone.

@Django thanks mate. I'm pretty sure level 1 stone just says record the "difficulty" of the test? So would that not double?

You‘re right about Ancient Stone. I misread and misplayed it, this is totally op this way. Turning shroud 4 into 14 charges... but depends on group size. Some enemies have more hp in 4 player.
