Professor Walters knows the secret to preventing Death by Curiosity; keeping your hand small.
- Grim Memoir, Grisly Totem, Vault of Knowledge, and Harvey Walters' ability give you plenty of consistent draw while Eureka!, Perception, and Blood-Rite provide burst.
- Grisly Totem incentivizes you to commit cards, while Blood-Rite allows you to pitch cards you can't commit.
- Cryptic Writings either discards itself (if you draw it during your turn) or can be committed for (or with Grisly Totem) if you draw it off your turn.
- Don't be afraid to commit cards; you're not just using them for symbols, you're reducing the damage you take from Thrice-Damned Curiosity.
- Potential cards to cut: Inquiring Mind (potentially difficult to get out of your hand), Survey the Area (not the most efficient use of XP), Guts (potentially hard to use icons).
- Potential cards to add: Fey (another copy of Unexpected Courage), Occult Invocation (another way to use cards in hand as a resource), Unearth the Ancients (more uses for all your icons and an easier way to get your assets in play).
- What If: Synergy
- Tempt Fate would provide more burst draw, as could Deep Knowledge.
- Gaze of Ouraxsh and Manipulate Destiny would combine well with Blood-Rite to create a fairly effective war mage.
