This is a 19xp Stand Alone version of my enter link description here deck. The main possible danger is that Sefina can only take 5 damage. I've found that with tons of money + Streetwise + Elusive + Arcane Studies, she simply does not tend to take much damage. She can dodge, flee, or blast her way out of trouble.

Still, you might consider putting in one more Painkillers and taking out a Holy Rosary or Arcane Studies if you are concerned about her health.

Can you share some experiences about Moxie, Spirit Athame and not playing Lockpicks? I've got a similar sefina deck and i'm considering above cards, in favor of Lockpicks.

I've also got dario in this deck, but only use his +1 and , when Hot Streak is in starting hand.

Spirit Athame is absolutely fantastic! The only downside is that you can only use it once per round, so if you go up against a bigger enemy it can be a pain.

I bought a Lockpicks and regretted it (it is what prevented me from getting an Ace in the Hole later!). I honestly only used the Lockpicks one time, and that was mostly for the novelty of it.

I think Sefina should be using Drawn to the Flame and Rite of Seeking for her clues, as they give her 2 a pop, and only use Lockpicks if you are playing solo---in which case there aregoing to be singleton clues lying about.

Moxie is okay, I think on Expert I would drop down to 1 Moxie and 1 Arcane Studies, but on Hard or easier I think having 3 -pumping Talents is useful simply for stability. Sefina Rousseau is going to have lots of trouble if she has no way to funnel her resources.

Sometimes Moxie is a pain to keep alive, but with Holy Rosary and lots of allies that can take 2 horror, it isn't so bad. I think it depends on how good your partner is. If you are playing with Roland Banks, you probably have the actions to safely use on the occasional slow card like Arcane Studies, but if you are playing opposite one of the more marginal investigators, or playing Expert, then Moxie is probably necessary for the action compression.

But when you are playing with Moxie, you really do have to keep in mind the potential of losing it. Playing 2x Charisma and more allies makes a lot of sense in that case.

Sefina has a lot of options when building her deck, that work in different ways. I've built her as a generalist in a 4 player group, to fill in gaps (bad draw and such) and i've also focused on mystic side because the Arcane Initiates draw is too good to pass.

Ressources from rogue side are nice, however turning them into boost consistent is a problem, that Streetwise won't fill. But 2x Arcane Studies and 2x Moxie sounds pretty good.

I've used Spirit Athame in another mystic deck, but the 1x per turn limit is annoying, especially with Leo De Luca and Ace in the Hole. But same goes for Lockpicks. However the athame works better with Dario El-Amin, as it does not consume ressources each time.

Still i like both ideas for boost will, i think i'll try both.

@Django, it may be obvious, but still worth pointing out---One reason the 1x per turn use on Spirit Athame is only a mild annoyance is that for Rite of Seeking you generally only want to use the spell on the last turn of the round anyway. I almost never use Rite of Seeking twice on the same turn.

I know, Rite of Seeking should always be last action of yout urn. Though it's fun to use two different Lockpicks and Rite of Seeking afterwards.

However it's more about 4+ HP Monsters when you don't have cards to commit. Or you do both, kill an enemy and then want to investigate with the rite.

Have you ever thought about Book of Shadows for her? Might be more reliable than Recharge and she has the ressources to spent.

@Django, I was looking at book of shadows, but I would prefer use it with an investigator that has access to the high-powered versions of spells rather than the low-level. It costs you an action for each charge you want to put back.

If there was a good use of the third arcane slot, it would be different.

The way I was playing Sefina, she often had just tons of resources, so as long as she had Moxie or Arcane Studies out, it was just a matter of spending 2 more resources when she couldn't use the Athame.

(Course, I would prefer to have 2 Athames out at once... but that never happened.)

Through Leo De Luca, Sefina has more actions, so the book may work.

How about this: You either investigate 2x with Streetwise and 4 ressources total. Or you use Book of Shadows light to recharge Rite of Seeking, spending only 1.

Sadly, Book of Shadows light does not add another arcane slot. But it can be used by Daisy Walker and Sefina Rousseau.

@Django, For some reason I was thinking Recharge was a skill test rather than a simply chaos token reveal. I think I'm more likely to actually get the Recharge, since it is a Spell., but then a 20-25% of it fizzling is not so hot.

I don't think there is a great solution here. Book of Shadows is slow and takes up a hand slot that I would prefer to house a second Spirit Athame, but Recharge is going to gloriously fail 20-25% of the time.

Recharge does have this going for it---if it fizzles you can Quantum Flux it back to your deck and then use Arcane Initiate to repull it.

I think there has to be a better solution.
