Plot
The Lumberjack. The Firefighter. The Housekeeper. Wilson Richards knows how to fight hard while discovering clues.
Intro
The Feast of Hemlock Vale investigator pack introduces us Wilson Richards, an investigator with a jackpot of 3's in his stat line making him perfect for true solo since you can explode his signature ability most of the time.
Disclaimer
This deck was tested on The Feast of Hemlock Vale campaign on true solo. FHV is a campaign that penalizes Wilson a lot since you can't use Geared Up. This means you are going to expend a lot of actions on installing tools and this is the main reason i think this deck will shine brighter in other campaigns.

Main strategy
Use Tools most of the time for the bonus. This deck has plenty of options for clueing and fighting with tools (except for Enchanted blade but has a +2 bonus).
This deck prioritizes reducing shrouds instead of upgrading your , it will be pretty common to test 4 against 1 or 0 which is pretty good without adding any extra pip from skills. The main problem you are facing is gaining clues 1 by 1 but since you are in solo, is a limited one.
The very first scenarios fighting is not you main strength but you still have options with multi-damage on the Enchanted blade or the brand new Pitchfork.
To deal with the encounter deck you have some Skills such as Unexpected courage or Take the initiative. The Wolf Mask also enhances your !
Easy combos
- Flashlight + Cleaning Kit: You are going to use your flashlight a lot and if you have some luck maybe lasts enough to reveal your and swap it with another one or an Old keyring so ... keep the game going!
- Chainsaw + Cleaning Kit: This combo is nuts. +5 boost and 3 damages. Some bear was slashed like carpaccio. Attach Jury-rig if you want an extra shot to find the (You are fighting with a 10 skill value). Vicious blow adds another 2 pips and another 2 damages...
Mulligan
Searching Tools is a must when making the mulligan. If they don't show up initially you can still search them with the Backpack or Tetsuo Mori (while serves as a punching ball).
- Flashlight over Old keyring
- Enchanted blade over Pitchfork
- Chainsaw over Fire extinguisher
- Tetsuo Mori or Backpack
- Tinker helps a lot
If you didn't draw Tinker favor Fire extinguisher over Chainsaw to have all fighting and clueing options open.
Your comfortable zone
Chainsaw + Tinker + Cleaning Kit + Flashlight + Wolf Mask can be your sweet spot.
Unexpected courage or Take the initiative in your hand for extra security alonside additional Tools in case the shows up to make the swap.
Fine tunning
- 2x Fire extinguisher 2x Enchanted blade
- 2x Sweeping kick 2x Emergency cache
- 2x Chainsaw 2x Pitchfork
- 2x Cleaning Kit 2x Cleaning Kit
- 2x Defensive stance 1x Backpack and 1x Jury-rig
- 2x Vicious blow 2x Glory

Mar 07, 2024First, Thanks for the comment! Yeah, you are not going to slash monsters the way you are going to do it when you upgrade for the Chainsaw but Pitchfork deals 3 damages with a base 5 and there are some skill cards to bump your alongside the Wolf Mask. Enchanted blade can do the work too (+2 and 2 damages). If you miss some extra damage, you can start with the Sweeping Kick adding In the thick of it (and two traumas) or maybe Vicious blow (0) instead of Daring. If things don't pan out you also can evade with 5 using the Wolf Mask. |
Mar 09, 2024What's a good sub for Tetsuo Mori for people that don't have Dream Eaters or Innsmouth? |

Mar 15, 2024What's the (spoiler-free, if possible) reason you can't use Geared Up in FHV? |

Wow looks very promising, I will test it today, thanks a lot :) I had a problem to figure out how to make things work, but cleaning kit is the one card i forgot Is fighting in the beginning not a big issue?
