Deck idea and card choices

My take on Norman Withers, meant for solo play although it could work perfectly fine in a group setting.

Deck is very straightforward, you can start investigating right off the bat thanks to Norman's high intellect value, mulligan for cards that help dealing with monsters or particularly nasty treacheries and there are plenty of those: Dr. William T. Maleson, "I've got a plan!", Mind over Matter to name a few.

Deduction and Working a Hunch are tempo boosters. Shortcut and Astral Travel help with mobility, i know that Astral Travel may not be the most loved card but it saved me many times in scenarios that require a lot of running around the map (Curtain Call, Midnight Masks) Norman's assets are not very crucial so even discarding them doesn't really hurt (maybe apart from Dr. William T. Maleson).

No Stone Unturned works surprisingly well, especially if you can play it for 1 resource, it helps find crucial cards and i'm considering to bump it to 2 copies dropping singel Emergency Cache

Speaking of money this deck is very cheap and once Dr. Milan Christopher is out you're drowning in resources even after purchasing upgrades i haven't figured out yet what to do with all these resources. Scientific Theory would be fantastic but it's out of reach sadly. I was thinking about Hyperawareness but it feels slow.

Holy Rosary could be swapped for Arcane Initiate as the number of spells will only grow but having already two other allies makes her tricky to play at times.

Upgrades

For solo play Shrivelling(3) in place of "I've got a plan!" is priority. Next, Charisma is good to keep both doctors around. Scrying(3) is also fantastic, besides obvious combo with Split the Angle to remove unwanted treacheries it can also manipulate top cards of deck so we kind of dig for card that is needed at the moment, in multiplayer it has higher priority than Shrivelling. For multiplayer i'd recommend Rite of Seeking, two actions of conventional investigating plus Rite of Seeking plus Working a Hunch or Deduction throw in and that's 6 clues in one turn with high chance of success. Grotesque Statue is also worth consideration although with no way to bring it back i don't think it's that good.

Summary

This deck is all about comfortable investigating thanks to high natural and manipulating both your and encounter deck to avoid any nasty surprises. Above average willpower makes Norman resilient to most treacheries so the real problem are enemies and cards like Grasping Hands.
