For the deckbuilding exercise on reddit.
- What role is the deck? Clue gatherer, Fighter, Support, a little of everything?
Balanced. - How many players is this deck for?
I'm not too familiar with solo, but I think it could work with any number of players. Naturally "You handle this one!" should not be played in solo. - Which campaign is this deck for? Are there any card choices specific for that campaign?
I think this could work in any camapign. - Does the deck use a limited card pool (not everything released)? Whether it's because you don't own everything, or self imposed limitations.
Everything up to City of Archives not including Novellas. My self imposed banned list I use for a campaign I'm familiar with:
Dr. Milan Christopher, Higher Education, Machete, Strange Solution: Acidic Ichor, Peter Sylvestre (2), Key of Ys, Leo De Luca, and Delve Too Deep is restricted to classes that can take it without limiting their card pool. - If it's a multiplayer deck: Who would the deck like to be paired with? Which cards do you expect them to run that will help you specifically?
Anyone with a high will so I can give them will based Treacheries to deal with. A mystic would be best, so they can run Delve Too Deep since this is a very XP heavy deck. - What is your Mulligan strategy?
I'd like a weapon, Sleight of Hand and a Flashlight. Priority would depends on specific scenario. - Are there any treachery cards you're particularly wary of?
Frozen in Fear and Rotting Remains are the most ubiquitous weak points for the low will. - What is your upgrade path? Priorities in general, priorities to get before a specific scenario?
This is going to be extremely XP heavy, so Charon's Obol is a must.
Depending on the campaign, Adaptable could be a good pickup to adjust your deck on the fly.
I want to remain balanced, so my first couple of upgrades will be rounding out investigating ability with Lockpicks, remove Evidence! for them. After that, just upgrade a couple of weapons. Next we want the amazing Streetwise, as it's just too good to pass up. Next we want to get the Well Prepared and Physical Training combo going, which allows us to cover all our weaknesses, and basically turns us into a monster at anything we do. Can take out Narrow Escape and Overpower for them, as they serve a similar purpose.
Either upgrade Beat Cop or replace them with Lola Santiago. Upgrade the rest of the weapons.
Go crazy with Hot Streak and any other high powered rogue cards you like.
Card choices:
Scene of the Crime and Evidence! are there to round out our clue gathering until we can get Lockpicks and Lola Santiago. If there are no monsters to kill, use Evidence! to boost an investigate check.
Sleight of Hand works well with both our weapons and the Flashlight allowing us to reuse them, and not play them until needed, in case of weapons.
That's pretty much it.

Nov 25, 2018I would keep beat cop in the starting build because the +1 is quite important for skids. But You can later replace them with Leo when you have some other boosts. Either buy getting adaptable or just buying upgraded Leos. |
Nov 25, 2018I just played the first two scenarios in Dunwich Legacy. A huge problem I'm having is getting resources. The deck has many expensive cards, and I also need some saved up for Skids' innate power, but lone wolf on its own just isn't cutting it. And I can see as a further upgrade you suggest Streetwise, and that's an even further resource dump. Without emergency cache I don't understand how I'm supposed to gain more. What am I doing wrong? |
Nov 25, 2018I'm not sure. You don't have to play all the cards, they are there so you'l have the options. Use cards to boost skills. This deck wasn't tested as such, this is the deck I tested arkhamdb.com and didn't have issues. |
Would it be a good idea to swap the cops for Leo?
