Why this chaos stabilization deck?

To avoid random chaos bag draws messing up glorious turns all too often, and to reduce the appeal of cheating, we will experiment with a NPC character. This character will accompany us during our playthroughs and make life easier while we experiment with more specialized builds.
Our party (which is usually usually 2-3 real people) will play Mateo's turn by defining his actions using group consensus.

Core ideas

• include Seal of the Seventh Sign
• make sure we don't have to babysit him too much
• make life easier for all other characters, so they can specialize
• Spirit Athame or Sword Cane seems like a great way to add some self-sufficiency to an otherwise vulnerable concept
• use Premonition in combination with Dayana Esperence to make informed decissions
• blessed survivor cards such as Alter Fate, Butterfly Effect and Grisly Totem
• Hallowed Mirror for goodness
• Seal of the Elder Sign could be fun

Upgrades to get asap

• replace Olive McBride by Dayana Esperence or add Charisma and Versatile to have them both
• get 2x Seal of the Seventh Sign as soon as possible
• get Grotesque Statue or Grotesque Statue (depending on your collection) sooner than later
• upgrade Shrivelling to Wither or Shards of the Void
• upgrade Sword Cane to Spirit Athame
