Here is my build for the myth, the legend "Skids" O'Toole, which is essentially my core set only build that i modified with the Dunwich Legacy cards, thus making a few replacements. I personally like to use O'Toole as a fighter using the .41 Derringer and Beat Cop along with many skill cards to rival with Roland Banks' fighting capabilities, while having good drawing power and evasion as a back up option if things go wrong. For the replacements I've made, we first have Lone Wolf over Pickpocketing, and although the card can be a little clunky in multiplayer, it's a nice card to help us get more resources. Main issue with Skids is that despite being an investigator that likes to have resources to use his free trigger, he doesn't really have good economy unlike Jenny Barnes, aside from his elder sign which you only pull every now and then, so Lone Wolf will definitely help. We then have Prepared for the Worst over Evidence!, which will help us get to our precious .41 Derringer and later on Switchblade a lot more consistently. You can take off one copy of it for Liquid Courage, as Skids' sanity, although not as bad as Roland Banks', is still rather mediocre, and discarding cards isn't the end of the world considering you have a lot of draw power. Lastly we have Quick Thinking which plays pretty well with the rogue's play style, giving us additional actions to grab more resources or fight/evade.

As for other options that I didn't include but can be looked at, we have Emergency Aid which is not only nice to heal our self or our teammates, but also very nice to heal our level 2 Beat Cop so we can use his ability for longer before his health gets critical. Cards like the Machete and .45 Automatic I wouldn't use, as Skids' base combat state is in my opinion too low for those to be good. A lot of the enemies you encounter have 4 combat as well, so with those you barely meet the requirement to fight them, which is why the .41 Derringer feels so essential so we can stand a chance at level 0. Dynamite Blast on the other hand is pretty nice to deal a decent amount of damage without any test. I personally don't really like Leo De Luca at level 0 either, as a fighter with a mediocre combat stat the Beat Cop is just too essential to me. Backstab is a little redundant to me as we can have up to 6 in combat stat while we don't have much to boost our agility aside from Manual Dexterity, so it's a little too unreliable with this build. It can be pretty good if you combine it with Streetwise, but it's an expensive combo and at this point you might as well just use the Dynamite Blast, you get the same result with no risk of failure. Sneak Attack on the other hand is pretty decent. Think on Your Feet is pretty nice too actually, it can be a nice alternative to Elusive to get yourself to a safe spot while you're still looking for your assets, but ultimately Elusive is useful in more situations.

As for the upgrades, there is a lot of options, this is definitely where Skids gets to shine. Weapon wise the .41 Derringer is pretty bonkers, dealing that +1 damage a lot more reliably while potentially giving us additional actions, awesome. Switchblade is a fantastic replacement over the Knife, essentially a level 0 .41 Derringer that costs only one resource, has fast, and doesn't need any ammo. Those two weapons are especially nice when combined with Opportunist, which with a bit of luck basically turns into a permanent +1 to your fighting tests. Beat Cop is obviously incredible as well, and with Charisma entering the ring you have multiple options. You can go for Brother Xavier who is an absolute blessing for Skids as he helps you with your low willpower while tanking a bunch and dealing good damage upon death, or go for Leo De Luca who you can combine with the Chicago Typewriter along with Skids' fast trigger and maybe the Police Badge to become an absolute monster shredder. Vicious Blow is also very good and synergies very well with your weapons. Other than that, Lockpicks make you a very good seeker, Sure Gamble is essentially Lucky! on steroids which is amazing, and Hot Streak will make you rich so you can pay for all of those expensive cards. Streetwise is a really good card, the only issue I have with it is that again, Skids' doesn't have the economy that justifies the use of this card. Awesome card on Jenny Barnes, but O'Toole can't make consistent use of it without drying himself out of resources very quickly.

And that's it, if you have any suggestions or criticism on the deck please don't hesitate to give feedback, i'm a rather new player so some of my reasoning can be wrong of course. Thank you if you've read all of this, and have a good day
