This is a deck I've had success with playing solo on standard. The main idea is that when I play Skids, I want to use his extra action ability as often as possible. As such, I want to run a lot of very cheap cards, with a focus on cards with good skill icons. The goal is to speed through scenarios quickly, without much setup, and use skill icons to rarely fail a skill check.

-I went with Beat Cop as the ally over Guard Dog even though it's more expensive for the extra sanity soak. Beat cop is also important for the upgrade path, which will be covered later.

-Lone Wolf is the most important card in the deck to mulligan for. Once you're set up with a beat cop and a machete, this deck doesn't really need to spend more resources. So with lone wolf, you're gaining two resources each turn to power Skids' extra action ability.

-Narrow Escape and Evidence! are cheap events with good skill icons. They can also combo together. You can move with an enemy to a location with a clue, use Narrow Escape to cancel the attack of opportunity, and then use Evidence! to grab the clue.

-Prepared for the Worst helps to find the three weapons. Also, in the upgrade path, Switchblade will be the most important card.

-Guts and Say Your Prayers act as sanity protection of a sort, since the deck has little soak.

Upgrade Path

-The first two cards you should upgrade two are two copies of Switchblade. They're great because they're so cheap and don't waste an action to play. They allow the deck to get a head start on advancing your win condition.

-After that are two copies of Vicious Blow. They help with cheap damage output and make our switchblades more consistent. The beat cops also go great for both of these upgrade cards. The vicious blows and switchblades are also why the Daring Maneuver are in the deck.

-After that It's up to you. I like to get Beat Cop next. Other good options are Opportunist, .41 Derringer, and Ace in the Hole.

There are plenty of other cards to consider for the level 0 version. Elusive, "Watch this!", and Manual Dexterity are all cards to consider and cards that I've run in this deck.
