Purpose

This is a big money Preston deck which did a pretty good job at tackling first scenarios of The Circle Undone. Get lots of money by withdrawing from your Family Inheritance and use it to your advantage !

Description and card choices

The main idea is getting a big pile of money so that Well Connected gives you at least a successful test each round. Money Talks, Cunning and in a way Rise to the Occasion and Lucky! cover you up for other tests. You can then pay for automatic effects like Intel Report ("Oh! I'll have this 2 clues over there please.") and Elusive. Leo De Luca is essentially there so that you can use his 4th action to withdraw money from Family Inheritance. First scenario can be tough because Preston badly wants some XP to get rolling but you can do some work with Flashlight, Intel Report, "Look what I found!", Lucky! and Elusive. Use Resourceful to get those Lucky! and "Look what I found!" back. Fire Axe might not seem like a good choice in a deck aiming at having lots of money. Obviously you will only be able to do single point of damage but by pumping very high (+6) it's a near guaranted point of damage. Feel free to expriment with Meat Cleaver instead, I think it can work (use Well Connected or hold Money Talks for the Rotting Remains and the likes).

Upgrades

Now we're talking! With some XP Preston becomes incredibly good. Obviously Streetwise is the first upgrade : it covers investigation and evasion (which should by then become your preferred way of dealing with enemies). Then, go for Lola Santiago and since we want both Leo De Luca and Lola Santiago on the board, Charisma comes next. Easy cuts are Resourceful (not a lot of to recycle in this deck) and Flashlight (Lola Santiago get the clues ... unless you want to do the Flashlight + Lola Santiago thing but I'm sure if it's worth it).

From there, have pleasure and take what you see fit. Interesting ones are :

What's next ?

Among the upcoming cards, Decoy will fit nicely in this deck (replacing Resourceful or Think on Your Feet) and I'm pretty sure we'll see a combat/damage version which will also have it's place in the deck (replacing Fire Axe maybe ?).

Hi, love the deck. I have one that is actually very similar the only difference being that I have subbed out think on your feet, lone wolf, and resourceful for cunning distraction, backstab, and you handle this one.

Be interested to get your thoughts on those as I found that without backstab it got a bit dicey about dealing with high health enemies and being able to automatically evade a group of enemies has proved invaluable especially early on without exp. you handle this one was added for tcu as I had heard about the prevalence of willpower treacheries and the other investigator is Agnes in that campaign so she can easily handle most treacheries that get sent her way.

In any case very similar, very cool deck.
